AZAficionado Posted June 4, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 4, 2014 That's it!!!! First the chocolate on the pillows.:( Then the logo on the napkins. This is the final straw - no ding? I'll never cruise again. Time for me to compose a letter to Adam Goldstein.:p Back to reality = I was on Allure a few weeks ago and there was still a ding. However, the volume was not set to 160 decibels, like it usually is. Maybe they just turned the volume down.

Aquahound Posted June 4, 2014 #12 Share Posted June 4, 2014 Just plug in your iPhone or iPad. The sound is very similar. :)
Rare BillOh Posted June 4, 2014 #13 Share Posted June 4, 2014 On a humorous note, I just called a lady in Michigan and her call went to voice mail. I swear the tone at the start was the same one! Back to work.
Yorkvillain Posted June 4, 2014 #14 Share Posted June 4, 2014 (edited) Just plug in your iPhone or iPad. The sound is very similar. :) Ha, I started a thread on this a while back when Apple updated the software. I said "When you plug your phone in, does the new sound remind you of anything?" Well the thread turned into people talking about which iphone was better, etc so the mods deleted it. Edited June 4, 2014 by Yorkvillain

TravelMadBrits Posted June 4, 2014 #19 Share Posted June 4, 2014 I plug/unplug my ipad several times a night to get that sound and it really helps with my post-cruise blues. If they take that away... Well I can't just go there!
Pomperaugrr Posted June 4, 2014 #20 Share Posted June 4, 2014 (edited) Removing the sounds is another cost cutting move. Now you have to smuggle your own on! I just picked up some "Poiiii Poiiii Runners" although "Ding Runners" will also work. I just fill them with these: https://sites.google.com/site/soundsfromrci/ That way I can enjoy the sounds anytime I want, even in my cabin. ;) Eric Edited June 4, 2014 by Pomperaugrr

leaveitallbehind Posted June 5, 2014 #22 Share Posted June 5, 2014 (edited) It has been on every cruise we have been on - most recently Independence this past March. Might have to consider a different cruise line if they take that away...... Edited June 5, 2014 by leaveitallbehind

You can buy a package to allow specialty boarding for the whole cruise and the D+ and up coupons [OK -- electronic equivalents] will include a BOGO offer. I think suite guests will be comped.
