Star Princess still in Victoria?

It appears from the Marine Traffic map that the Star Princess never left Victoria yesterday. Not sure if it is a glitch in their system or if in fact the Star actually overnighted in Victoria and remains there. We are supposed to be boarding Friday so I'm very curious and a little concerned. Would appreciate an update from anyone who might know what is going on.

Update appears to show that she just left Victoria a few minutes ago and is now heading to San Francisco. But it is showing her arrival time as 12:00 UTC on 8/8/14 which is our boarding date. Wouldn't that time be Noon? I'm wondering if this will affect our boarding?

12:00 UTC is 5:00am PDT. Sounds like she's on schedule.

  • 2 weeks later...

We were on this cruise. A week or so before sailing they told us the ship would be overnighting in Victoria for "operational reasons". The two following sea days allowed enough of a buffer to arrive back in San Francisco on time.

It was nice having the whole day and evening in Victoria. We were originally scheduled to leave at 6pm, but instead all-aboard was pushed back to midnight (and the ship left sometime early the next morning). So we had time to do lots of stuff.

I feel bad for folks on shorter itineraries that only stop in Victoria for a couple of hours in the late evening (now that really is for "operational reasons" :D!)
