Best beach to spend a few hours?

Is a beach club the only way to enjoy a few hours at the beach? Our family of 7 is arriving on the Disney Fantasy in a couple of weeks. Don't want to pay the expense of the cruise ship excursion to Playa Mia. Just want to spend a few hours at the best beach possible, without the all-inclusive. Don't need unlimited drinks and big meal. Also, what is the best way to get there? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Paradise Beach is popular, non-AI, an doffers great facilities, a huge pool and good food/drinks/service. They charge an admission fee ($3 each) that covers chair rental, etc. They ask that you spend $10 each on food and drinks but I do not think that applies to all of your kids - a few sodas, some nachos and an adult beverage or two for mom & dad :D should do it.

Taxi will take about 15 minutes each way and a cab for 7 will run about $35 each way.

we plan on taking a taxi to The Money Bar and just hang out and some snorkling.

Money Bar is a great option for snorkeling, but no beach and no pool I think will make it not ideal for a family of 7.
