DOH! 🤦‍♂️ How did I miss that!

Yes, it’s Serenade of the Seas.

It was advertised on that other social media.

I didn’t price check with the cruise line or with any other TA.

I checked its not that any more

4 day Solstice cruise Australia to NZ with business class flight  October 2020 from $1700.

Doesn't sound cheap. Business class flight is around $500, so $1200 for a one way cruise for 4 days is pricey...

The Business flights are usually a little more for one way, but it also includes accommodation in Auckland,  transfers and a drinks package. It may not be the cheapest deal going but it is not too shabby either.

Mum and son, the cruise following the one I mentioned above is 10 nights Auckland to Sydney on Solstice. The price is US$999 for a balcony cabin with the same inclusions as mentioned before. Not quite such a good deal.

Yes, true. But still a good deal for 3 weeks onboard the Solstice with free drinks (if that's the chosen perk).

Round Australia usually sells out early. Unfortunately, it conflicts with other plans we have in place.

big difference to overnight in cairns dock versus yorkys knob

i was interested when i seen cairns O.night, but its a long shuttle bus from the knob to

cairns downtown.not worth the effort for me

When it says Cairns it usually means Yorky’S, unless you are on a small ship, the others can’t get in

best to organise an over night hotel than try doing the tenders both days, wastes too much time

the rain forest areas in the mountains  behind Cairns are very beautiful

I was interested in this discussion as we will be stopping in Cairns in 2021.

Itinerary for Carnival Spirit says Yorkeys Knob, but having a look at this  https://www.portsnorth.com.au/marine-tourism/cruise-ship-schedules/  Spirit is at Cairns Port for that date. Scrolling down you can see the Yorkeys Knob entries.

I would be happy to dock at Cairns for this one as it is a 3pm departure so makes for a short day.
