DentoAlaska Posted August 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2014 Calling on all of you seasoned/experienced cruisers for an answer/opinion on this one!!! Have you found it more economical to book your flights through the airlines or through the cruise line? We are planning a July, 2015 cruise/tour through Princess and I have started checking into airfares. The air is not yet available on the Princess site but is on the airlines. Needless to say....I'm suffering from sticker shock! Any experiences you could share would be greatly appreciated.
MSMcDuffy Posted August 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2014 I always book my flights directly with the airlines because whenever I've inquired with the cruise lines, their flights are always more pricey.
Ashland Posted August 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2014 Make your own flight plans...no reason to have a 3rd party (cruiseline in this case) involved...keep control..It's easy and you'll be glad you did.
DentoAlaska Posted August 25, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted August 25, 2014 First of all, I apologize for posting this question twice! Thank you all for your replies. You have confirmed what I suspected but I thought maybe the cruise lines secured some special fares. Wishful thinking for sure!
threeboyz Posted August 27, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2014 We originally booked our own and they were not cheap. Due to a change with a connecting flight we had to cancel and rebooked through the cruise line. We saved about $400 with the switch.
