Suite Perk: What is the Star*Bar Day Lounge? What night is Chef's Table Offered and..

This will be our first Suite, we are in an SG (Penthouse Suite with Balcony) on the Star Dec. 14, 2014. I was looking at the various threads about Suite Perks and have not seen any info on the the Star Day Lounge is. Does anyone know what it is and what is in there?

A few other questions about the STAR...

Has anyone recently come off the Star? I found some Freestyle Dailies from March 2014, but wondering if there are any that are more recent out there?

Is there still a steak and Lobster Night in the MDR? If so what night?

Does anyone know what night(s) Chef's Table is offered?

Do they still escort you to your cabin (if you arrive early enough)?

Any other tips are very welcome! Thanks fellow cruise lovers!!!

The Star Bar is a bar adjacent to Cagney's that is unused in the daytime hours and reserved for suite guests as a "hangout" during those hours. Usually the concierge sets up shop there too. It's no big deal. On the ships where part of Cagney's has been changed to Moderno's, the Star Bar is replaced by a Mojito bar and I think the whole suite day lounge/concierge office is out the window....at least that's what I read.

There's almost no chance of an escort to your cabin, particularly if you arrive early because the cabins aren't ready early. Why this is listed as a suite perk is beyond me. I've never been escorted to my suite...when we board we've always escorted to the suite lunch venue (Cagney's on most ships, or the Haven restaurant).

The Star Bar, if the Star still has it, is a nice, quiet place to go during the day. But, as has already been mentioned, if it has been converted into Moderno, then the Star Bar is gone.

Enjoy the Star - it is our favorite NCL ship. Enjoy the suite perks!
