Paradise Bahamas Cruise

Hi everybody, I don't frequent the Carnival boards but we are considering a cruise on Carnival Pride from Tampa. While looking at the cruises from Tampa I saw a cruise on Paradise that goes to the Bahamas. That is a looooong way over. That is very peculiar.

Another very weird thing about the cruise is that it stops at Little Sitirrup Cay, also known as CocoCay. That is Royal's private island!!! I wonder why they didn't choose Half Moon Cay.

I am not considering the cruise, it is very expensive for a Bahamas cruise (starting at $500), bad date for us (Dec 22), and we have already been on Paradise and we did not *love* it.

I am not sure if this was old news, so if it is, sorry!

Carnival does go to Little Stirrup Cay because I went in May.

That's odd, I do remember in one if Darth Grady's TR's he found some Little Stirrup Cay postcards in the gift shop.

Just brought that cruise up on the Carnival site, but there is no date of sailing of a Bahamas Cruise from Tampa, aboard "Paradise". Makes me wonder if it's a mistake? There is a price that is quite HIGH, IMO, but no date. I can't imagine why they would to to the Bahamas from the West side of the state??????

I'm gonna look it up again. I am thinking its a mistake, how does it get from Tampa to Bahamas with only one sea day?!

Its a Christmas cruise, I looked at it but it seemed kind of a silly trip since plenty of similar fantasy class vessels make that trip often. Since we live in Florida I almost never look at Western Carribean trips that leave from our East Coast, PC or Ft.L, why drive across the state to sail back around it?

But of course Tampa is limited in ship choices so I suppose "for the ship" would be the answer.

  • 1 month later...

We just booked this today!!! I received a free cruise offer from the casino department (or book for $100, get $100 OBC) and initially wanted the Liberty's 7 dayer out of Port C, but we realized my husband has a work meeting he can not miss that would have made that one a hard one to get to on time. This one gives us several extra days to get there and our in laws live in Tampa so we can squeeze in a family visit too. I'm being too chatty again? ;-) Anyway, I too found the Bahamas itinerary strange- but for us the goal is to escape the cold temps for a week, spend Christmas underway as a family, and enjoy the views- this works!

Have fun! She is a nice ship, with no WaterWorks! Trust me, this is a good thing. The pools were crowded as they were, I could not imagine how crowded the one pool would be on the other Fantasy class ships (besides Elation).
