Do the Premier cruises sell out?

Mine did. At least the Premier offer did.

I booked under a PC2 offer. That had 9 cruises listed between 10/19 and 11/30. Due to the fact that I was already sailing on 11/1, on 8/8, I booked the 11/29 Freedom, which was one of the higher priced offerings but it's an 8 night with a great itinerary I've been wanting.

Within a couple of weeks, there were only 6 cruises showing up when I went through my offer. Now, there are only two (final payment date was Monday). No price drops.

Even if the cruise itself doesn't sell out, the Premier offer is capacity controlled, which is why they started vanishing from my list. If you want a particular sailing, I suggest you just do it!

I have another question on premier cruises. I have until 10/28 to book one in my current offers. Hoping for drop in pricing. Do these often sell out before the last day to book?

Yes. I have seen premier cruises book up in under a week. Then, they offered additional sailings. The most recent offering that just ended yesterday did not fill up. Some of the later reappeared on the new offering. So, it's a toss up.

Yes they do. Yesterday I had a new set of premier cruise offers and today I see two of them in February have already disappeared.

You have to be comfortable with both the sailing day and the cost which I am sure you all ready know.

It's still cheaper (when you factor in the free drink card and the casino cash) than most of my other solo cruises.

I paid <$100/night for an inside solo for 8 nights and feel that was reasonable as it seems this itinerary is fairly expensive (Grand Turk, Dominican Republic, Curacao, and Aruba). Air was even fairly cheap. Current rates are more than I paid.

Do I wish I could split that cost with someone? Sure! The perks will help offset some of the "usual" expenses, so have to factor that in. But I wasn't going to book the cheapest just because it was the cheapest. I still cruise primarily for the ports. Between my two November sailings, I'm getting six new-to-me ports!

The latest offer I received the other day is less casino cash, but has some shorter cruises. But considering that I'm sailing twice in a month, there's no way I can go again before the end of the year. And I'm a CPA, so there's really no way I can go after the beginning of the year!

Is the casino cash and the rest of the perks "worth" it to you to book? Or would you rather wait and hope for a no-solo-supplement fare on a ship and itinerary you really want to do?

I got lucky last spring and booked Pride under a casino rate (not a premier cruise, just a reduced fare) that was also a no-solo-supplement. I'd been wanting to sail her (love the Spirit class) but the fares were always higher and most of the sailings "just" went to the Bahamas. The one I booked had HMC, so I jumped on it. Ended up upgrading myself from an inside to a French Door to an aft balcony for a total of about $80 more than I started. If I could do that on a Premier Casino cruise, I wouldn't hesitate. But I really doubt that I'll see those two stars align.

Well, if I pay over 600 and get 400 casino cash..it is kind of a wash.. I could get the same cruise for less.

I could get a 7 day for a little over 200 without the cash... instead of paying 1000 for 500 casino cash.. so ... I really want to do a premier cruise... but not if it's a wash... if only they would offer a solo rate...

May I ask what the Feb. dates were, and which ship? I still have the "old" premier cruise dates listed under my offerings, which should have expired on Sept. 9th. They are for Sept.-Nov. cruises.

I received the premier offer for the first time a couple of days ago. It said must be booked by 10/28. So when I clicked on details, it said must be booked by 9/9 which of course was already past. So I called the number that they provide, and was told there was some kind of glitch where it is showing the old dates. And she emailed me the new dates. Today, in my email, i got the actual invitation. The dates in Feb were for 2/1 and 2/21.

I am hoping i get more offers because as much as i want to go, which is alot, the pricing for solo is much more than I would be charged without this promo. I keep hoping they will offer a solo rate or perhaps I can find someone to cruise with me... :D

The one I booked was a PC2 fare. The new ones in my VIFP are PC3. Got an email about them today, too.

12/14 Sunshine 5 day

12/11 Magic 4 day

1/17 Breeze 8 day

2/1 Dream 7 day

1/4 Magic 7 day

1/4 Pride 7 day

3/8 Splendor 7 day

1/17 Sunshine 7 day

2/21 Freedom 7 day

1/24 Liberty 8 day

12/28 Splendor 7 day

The prices (for me, at least) are from $259 to $634 per person (listed low to high).

I do hope they come out with another round because I'll be wanting a post-tax-season cruise. We'll see whether I decide the Premier cruise is "worth" it

I have the same dates and ships on my offer... but it is pc4. i also hope offers keep coming... as I am thinking the same about the after tax cruise... if i had someone to go with me, and airfare was right.. I would jump on it...

When are you going on your premier cruise? Come back and tell us all about it !

I am so glad you said this. I saw several February cruises on the premier offer and within a day they disappeared. Carnival says there were no February sailings offered - only December and January.

Thank you for the dates. I figured it was a glitch in the system. I am pretty surprised Splendor is on there for a NYE cruise!! Must not be selling well.

In addition does my wife get the casino cash and free drink card to or just me?

Your wife will get the drink card. It goes to both in cabin. Unless your wife also got the offer, she will not get the cash.

I was told by the Casino that if the second person in your cabin has any kind of casino offer at all... doesn't have to be premier... that they would also give them the same cash as the first person...

My booking was just like any other before the payment-due date - I put down a deposit ($600 in my case for an 8-night as a solo!). Sailing on 11/29, final payment was due this past Monday (used some of the discounted Verizon eCards to pay it off so saved another $30 using that method).

I booked under a PC2 code and I'm getting $300 casino cash, per Michael at the Player's Club. The only difference I can see is my PC2 code said "up to $600 off fun select fares..." while this PC3 code says "up to $400 off..."

I never bother to look at Fun Select fares. I just look at what a cruise will cost me under whatever fare I want (which is never Fun Select; I usually book at PG rate and occasionally an ES rate). I just know that the fare for a 1A Senior rate (lowest rate currently available) for my cruise is >$100 higher than my 4B Casino rate, and we're after final payment. If it's going to drop, I would think it will do so soon.

I also asked whether anyone joining me (so far can't find anyone who can get the time off work) would get any perks. His reply was that they would be able to participate in the activities. Seems to me that to get casino cash and drinks card, that person would also have to have received the offer, not just be sailing with someone who did.

Don't know as I've never done this before.

Those dates I posted as still showing up for me, so there are a couple of February dates.

thanks for so much info:D The lady at the Global Casino number is the one that said if the person in my cabin has any casino rate, they would give them the 400-500 cash also, depending on which cruise I choose.

Ouch on that deposit! Last year I booked a solo cruise and only had to pay for 1 person deposit. Maybe it is because yours is a special promo??

Well, the cruises I am looking at are much cheaper, because I am book solo. Some that sail soon have a solo rate.

If your price drops on your premier cruise.. will they give you more obc or more casinon cash since you are paid in full.. or will it stay as it is??

I've always had to pay 200% deposit as a solo except on the one no-solo-supplement sailing. I think if you're paying 200% for the cabin, you pay 200% for the deposit. Doesn't matter to me - just means less due at final payment.

Just looked at the email and it does not show the 12/11 Magic sailing although it still shows up when I click the link and go into Carnival's website. Odd.

I think Casino cash is what it is. I don't think what the Player's Club is offering has any bearing on Carnival's pricing, so if the price drops, it's treated however Carnival normally treats it. Again, I'm not sure as I've never done this.

I honestly don't remember how it worked on Pride. I think I just upgraded myself when prices dropped last minute. It didn't have any impact on my Casino Cash (I think it was a whopping $50 that time). I think that's predetermined.
