Just returned from Pillory Beach

Recommended Posts

Visited Pillory Beach September 17th and the Bohio Dive Resort was closed! The taxi driver did not tell us this until we were there hence we would have had to pay an additional fare to go to another beach. We decided to stay and glad we did as it was a beautiful beach. We "roughed it" and layed our beach towels on the sand under a tree to get some shade. There was a local man standing at the entrance to the beach telling us where the best snorkeling spots were, etc. We paid him to go across the street and get us a few drinks. My mom really wanted to ride a horse so he "borrowed" one and let her ride it for about 30 minutes. There were only a dozen or so other people on the beach which was very nice. We agreed on a time for the taxi to pick us up ad take us to the ship. The fare was $8 per person each way. We were told the resort closes each year the last two weeks of September so beware.

Strange, there's a recent review on TA posted a week ago saying the stay was in September 2014.

I can't access from computer I'm on but they have a FB page (linked in google) someone may wish to check to see if that's still up. Their web site is.
