Anyone else think RCI should shift a new build/mega ship south?

Back in the day it made since....

Sovereign did east, Majesty did west, and Monarch down south.

Three traditional routes, three of the same ships.

Loved not having to pick ship but just where we wanted to go.

Now it's such a chess game.

I want to go here, but the ships suck.

I like these ships but the islands suck.

We've overdue to get back on the mega ships, or try a new build.

But those islands.... Ugh

Am I pipe dreaming that 3rd Oasis or a Quantum could be based out of San Juan?

I know airfare is sky high these days post mergers, but man, I miss those southern routes on a new ship.

I'm guessing that some of the Southern Carib islands could not take Oasis class. Besides the physical limitations (dredging, etc.), I believe Royal requires security to be performed outside the ship for returning passengers.

But a Freedom class ship would be great.

well with the Allure heading to Europe and Quantum going to China, I think Royal is catching on. There is a rather high chance that an Oasis-class ship, let alone the other ones, will depart from and/or call at Barbados, as Royal Caribbean recently announced them building a cruise terminal away from the cargo area with a whole village and I think, not sure, but I think they mentioned a beach. so I can see more Southern cruises coming.

Belize and Grand Cayman have been told numerous times, they will NEVER get a large ship if they continue to tender. I can understand Belize. But Grand Cayman needs to jump into the times and build one 4-ship capable (like the one in SXM) dock that extends far out. then they could have one location where the passengers come in, rather than 4. But Roatan is a hidden wonder that cruise lines don't use to their advantage often. But I'll just go on a different ship.

St.Kitts just did dredging to accommodate Oasis-class ships as well.

If you ask me, Royal is giving us indirect clues on the future of RCI (-:

Always remember, never forget: you will never not have a have a bad time on a resort cruise ship! :D
