Latest we can leave the ship on the last day?

Hi there!

 

The in-laws will be picking us up at the end of our holiday and they'll have a 4 hour journey to come and collect us so don't want them to have to leave too early in the morning, what's the latest we can leave the ship?

Hi there - last call is usually between 9:30 and 10:00 am. They want all passengers off by that time. Remember you'll need some time in the terminal to collect your luggage and go through Customs and Immigration.

You need to be out of your cabin by 8 - 8:30 and off the ship no later than about 10:00. They'll push to get you off sooner.

RCI does offer an option to stay onboard the ship late on most European sailings for a fee. The fee was $35 pp / $17.50 p child.

Ok, thanks for that! How long does it usually take to go through customs and baggage claim?

 

Also anybody any idea of where they would go to pick us up? Will they be allowed in to the terminal?

There will be people directing traffic who will tell you in-laws where to go. There will also be people directing you as you exit the terminal. Just tell them you have a private car picking you up.

Oh the late departure program sounds perfect, anyone know how we book it? I've looked on shore excursions part of my cruise planner on the website, but can't find it?!

If it's not listed in the available shore excursions it's probably not available for your cruise. If I remember correctly, it's usually only offered on cruises with multiple embarkation ports (such as the med cruises with embarkation in either Rome or Barcelona).

Oh that's a shame :( never mind we'll just have to stay til 10 then!
