Heyref Posted November 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2014 We sail in ~ 57 days on the Getaway. On booking, back in March 2014, we purchased a GTY Balcony. Our cabin was assigned this week - 10726 - balcony 10-12 cabins from the Front of the ship. Any chance this gets changed / upgraded between now and Jan 17, 2015? hawkeyetlse Posted November 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) Any chance this gets changed / upgraded between now and Jan 17, 2015?There is only a small chance of that happening. Most likely this will be your cabin. Are you unhappy with your assignment? If prices fall a lot right before your sail date, you can try to ask for an upgrade. garycarla Posted November 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2014 FYI - you know they can change it again, even on the day you embark. Right?
Rare monkey@cruise Posted November 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2014 Ask them if there is any other cabins in the same category that you can change cabins with. If not, ask if there is any other balcony in a lower category that you can switch cabins with. It may be way back on the ship but that is better than the front of the ship. albean99 Posted November 22, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2014 We had a guaranty outside cabin on the Pearl and I wasn't happy to learn it was above the bowling alley. I had our TA call to see if it could be switched and they weren't willing to do so. Not sure if there was availability. I was worried about noise and they said it shouldn't be a problem but did give us a $45 credit. As it turned out we didn't hear a thing.
