TXSailor Posted November 24, 2005 #176 Share Posted November 24, 2005 Hi: I would like to see Princess offer year-round 12-14 night Eastern Caribbean cruises from Galveston, Texas. Since Florida is the only gateway to the E. Caribbean on a cruise ship, I think Galveston would be a smart and cheaper choice for the Midwest and West coast passengers flying in for an E. Caribbean cruise....IMHO :) Fausto

gillianrose Posted November 26, 2005 #180 Share Posted November 26, 2005 I would love to see 7, 10, or even 12 or 14 day cruises to New England and Canada during the SUMMER months. It's very nice that most of the cruise lines offer this option as a Fall cruise but, frankly the idea of heading north during the cooler months of the year is a total turn off. Carnival has the right idea about offering Canada in the summer but, they only offer 4 and 5 day cruises which only get as far as Halifax. I would love to be able to sail round trip from New York to Quebec during the summer and, I know (after talking to many fellow passengers), that I do not stand alone with this opinion. I would love to do this trip when the weather is warm, too, but we would prefer one of the East Coast ports (Boston, NY, etc.) ONE way to Montreal or Quebec City, and 10-11 days would be great. And I'd really like it if Princess would move the smaller Pacific Princess to the Continental U.S. to do it.
Cruisin Kay D Posted November 27, 2005 #181 Share Posted November 27, 2005 Though we LOVED our 10 cruises on Princess, we've now done 2 on RC and 2 on HAL. Why did we venture to the other lines? Variety of itineraries!! In 2001, after 8 Princess cruises to Caribbean (E & W), we found a great itinerary on Royal Caribbean Brilliance 11nt RT Miami stopping at Key West, Coz, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Aruba, Curacao -- Princess had never offered such a routing and still doesn't, so that's why we left Princess for 1st time. This year we were looking for a B2B or a 12-14 night Caribbean and went on Westerdam (HAL) Eastern & Western -- that is a WONDERFUL SHIP, superior bedding & linens, bathtubs, GREAT food, and what a fantastic private island at Half Moon Cay!! Likely we will be back on Westerdam next fall when the Eastern route stops at Turks & Caicos, Tortola, St. Martin & Half Moon Cay!!! I've been so close to booking the itinerary of RC Adventurer that goes to St. Thomas, St. Martin, ARuba & Curacao -- BUT it requires going to San Juan and the ship is TOOOOO BIG. Also I'm wanting to do RT Canal again, but DO NOT stop at Cartegena, Jamaica, etc. Give me Grand Cayman, Aruba & Curacao/Bonaire!! So Princess, give us some more variety out of Ft. Lauderdale!!! I miss you Princess & Personal Choice Dining!!!
spindrift Posted November 27, 2005 #182 Share Posted November 27, 2005 Well, I will say that I haven't read all the responses as we just returned from a Transatlantic from Lisbon to Ft. Lauderdale on the Prinsendam. We had an emergency stop in Bermuda to disembark an ill patient and I saw the Grand Princess. We would have taken her, but her stops were not as great as the Prinsendam, which turned out to be a superb trip. Any way, we decided on Australia/New Zealand, Asia/Austrialia/New Zealand, Hawaii/South Pacific, etc. etc. You have the idea--that part of the world on a decent cruise. The ideal would be round trip from the states, but Princess doesn't seem to have that itinerary. When I did find an itinerary that interested me in the catalogue I received today, I went to the pricing and found that it is sold out in April of 2007. Now, if that is fact, that should tell Princess something. We love Princess, but have been with Oceania and HAL because of the itineraries recently. I guess we will not be able to travel with them again because it is sold out in 2007.

You should have no problem getting a cabin on the Sapphire April 2007 - Sydney/LAX - There will be cancellations and cabin space will be available - go on a wait list thru Princess or a TA. annmarz Posted November 27, 2005 #184 Share Posted November 27, 2005 I wish Princess had a small ship doing the Galapagos, like Celebrity does. For me, the more unusual and exotic the destination the better. For Caribbean afficienados, why don't they add "off the beaten path" islands that are more unspoiled and less commercialized. Some of us are interested in history and local sites and not in shopping constantly.
Queenk2 Posted November 27, 2005 #185 Share Posted November 27, 2005 I for one have been on many cruises..0ver 30, and am also tired of the same old, tired trips. I love the European explorer scheduled for June 27 2006. I am already going to the Baltic summer 2006, but woulfd love that trip or something close for 2007. As other posters have said, it is a bit different, and is a bit longer 14 days. Perfect for me!Clearly it is repositioning cruise. I wonder if it will be offered again? I see that in April 20007 the Golden ends up on the West Coast so it doesn't seem likely unless they schedual another ship. Does anyone here have Peter Radcliffe's E mail address? LOL! Queenk2 Posted November 29, 2005 #187 Share Posted November 29, 2005 Does anyone here know when the European itinerary is typically psoted? As I said I am interested in 2007. I see that they have added a transatlantic in April...Guesstimate?
tequilasunrise Posted November 30, 2005 #188 Share Posted November 30, 2005 One more vote for cruise to nowhere...or maybe a 7 day cruise r/t Seattle that stopped only in Victoria (its a great city). 7 Day to nowhere out of LA would be just fine too  Grand Class ships would have my vote, lots to do and places to get out of the smoke....I'm not fond of Sun Class ships personally tho I know lots of people who like them. JanMD Posted December 4, 2005 #191 Share Posted December 4, 2005 St. Barts And as the previous poster- why is the Crown not going to Bermuda like the Royal Caribbean ship that go out of NY and Baltimore do. Bermuda would be perfect. I was hoping to book that this summer and noticed that it was not going to go there- Bermuda would be perfect for that ship. dennbr9 Posted December 4, 2005 #193 Share Posted December 4, 2005 How about a Tahiti Cruise Round Trip from the US, similar to the 14/15 day Hawaii Cruises. Round Trip air to Tahiti for us in the Midwest is $12-1500.00. Might be a lot of Sea Days, but I like Sea Days and would love to so the Polynesiea Cruise. Just hate to fly that long and for the cost I can take another 7-10 day cruise somewhere else. dennis
Viajera7 Posted December 10, 2005 #194 Share Posted December 10, 2005 I would like more Grand class ships. I like big ships to have more places to go to and walk within the ship if the itinerary has more sea than port days. I would like more itineraries out of San Juan in the winter. My New Year's cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale was rough until we reached San Juan. I would also like other routes with exotic ports.

IKE Posted December 10, 2005 #196 Share Posted December 10, 2005 I would also like to see more cruises out of NYC or NJ that would sail to Aruba and Curacao. Usually the itinerary out of NYC is St. Thomas, St. Maarten, San Juan, Nassau. So a change would be nice. Looking forward to my Sept. cruise on new "Crown". Will get to stop at Caicos,Turks and Bermuda. Something different to look forward too.
cgopher Posted December 10, 2005 #197 Share Posted December 10, 2005 ;) Cruises of 9 to 12 days out of Ft Lauderdale would be a nice change as flights in and out of Ft. Lauderdale on Saturdays and Sundays are getting to be difficult and less economical. Modifiying a southern Caribbian cruise would be ideal.:)
Dolphins Posted December 10, 2005 #198 Share Posted December 10, 2005 More round trip cruises out of New York (Caribbean, Bermuda and Canada/New England). Crown Princess in 2006 is a welcome addition to New York but more winter cruises are needed.
donna5 Posted December 10, 2005 #199 Share Posted December 10, 2005 I'd like to see the Pacific Princess doing some of the smaller caribbean islands that they don't go to now and maybe doing several that are adult only. It would also be nice if they had long hours in the ports or maybe two days at a port. (And I wish we had a port in Colorado, but Princess has no control over nature :D )
Oink Posted December 10, 2005 #200 Share Posted December 10, 2005 :) Great thread! I'd like to see 9-12 day Caribbean cruises out of Port Everglades that DON'T stop in St Thomas (gasp! ) or Princess Cays. How about Tortola instead of St Thomas and Grand Turk instead of Princess Cays? Later....Oink! :)
