cruzdout Posted February 11, 2015 #26 Share Posted February 11, 2015 As a first time X cruiser, i am becoming increasingly concerned of the serious issues being raised. I am starting to question my decision to try X, after reading of these most disturbing lapses- Defective M& M's, melting ice cream!! Am starting to dread this cruise already? What shall I do -- Upgrade to the premium drinks package to assuage my frayed expectations and drown my dread or simply moan, whinge and complain endlessly into the cyber ether???? Advice from the experienced onm which way to turn is most welcome....
ailetoile Posted February 11, 2015 #27 Share Posted February 11, 2015 I did check with customer relations about the same issue and they assured me that while we were in fact receiving fewer sprinkles, that they were longer in length and the nice young lady assured me that lenght does matter. When I asked her if width was also important, she just smiled and said of course. Addressing another issue,it's no wonder the ice cream appears to melt so quickly. How are you expected to finish it before it melts when they give you those silly little plastic spoons intended for Lilliputians .I demand a man-side spoon---wake up and listen ,Celebrity. All I could think of upon reading that....
lightning bolt Posted February 12, 2015 #28 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Please tell me why they give you a tablespoon in the dining room to eat your ice-cream. This is a crazy world we live in.
CHEZMARYLOU Posted February 12, 2015 #29 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I've gotten my DH to accept the fact that the M&M's on his ice cream are now W&W's. I don't know what I'll do if someday the red wine I bring him is white.

DancerOT Posted February 12, 2015 #31 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I was flabbergasted to see they were serving After Eight ice cream at 7:00 pm!:eek::eek: Clearly they do not know how to tell time. :p:D I presume that if it is 5:00 somewhere, it must also be after 8:00 somewhere else.... gek Posted February 12, 2015 #32 Share Posted February 12, 2015 When I first started cruising in 1873 ice cream was served out of a giant brass barrel which was constantly being churned by a trained Capuchin monkey while a calliope played polka tunes. Nowadays all the brass has been replaced by fake chrome, monkeys exist only as service animals and calliopes playing Polka have gone the way the dinosaurs. We all seem to be on the same page on this issue. Now let's see if Celebrity finally does something about the appalling decline in quality at the ice cream station. Bring back the monkeys! nikel Posted February 12, 2015 #33 Share Posted February 12, 2015 There's always a shortage of jelly beans, especially black ones, when I'm around:confused:, not sure why that happens. That's cuz I get there before you LOL:D
Rocking rev Posted February 12, 2015 #34 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I am always more worried that they might run out of fresh air. After reading some of these "amazing" complaints, I know there is always hot air but can someone re-assure me that there will be fresh air. My first time cruising and I need to know if I should pack my own.

drfun48 Posted February 12, 2015 Author #36 Share Posted February 12, 2015 There is more fresh air on the starboard side as smoking is allowed outside on the port side.
drfun48 Posted February 12, 2015 Author #37 Share Posted February 12, 2015 When you say sprinkles you mean Jimmies, right. Only if you're from certain parts of the northeast. http://icecreamjournal.turkeyhill.com/index.php/2008/07/03/whats-the-difference-between-sprinkles-and-jimmies/
MizDemeanor Posted February 12, 2015 #38 Share Posted February 12, 2015 When you say sprinkles you mean Jimmies, right. Sprinkles are free. Jimmies are an extra nickle or dime.
20pluscruises Posted February 12, 2015 #39 Share Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) I'm having flashbacks of SNL reading this.... Emily, Emily, MISS LITELLA!!!!! That's Sex and Violence on TV -- not sax and violins. "Ooh... that's very different... Never mind!" :D:D:D Edited February 12, 2015 by 20pluscruises
blindrid Posted February 12, 2015 #40 Share Posted February 12, 2015 You are stating the obvious about why I give it "enough" and blow off cruise critic except when I've got a cruise coming. Most people in here are crazy, worrying about piddly things.
bar_20 Posted February 12, 2015 #41 Share Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) I am waiting for the day that they try and pass the cheaper Skittles off as M & M's. Edited February 12, 2015 by bar_20

LabGuy64 Posted February 12, 2015 #44 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Probably chinese knock off M&M's made with toxic waste and heavy metals to increase flavor.......not to mention delicious mutagentic substances.... Agreed! And I suspect a number were counterfeit as the lacked their customary printed logos.

Karynanne Posted February 12, 2015 #48 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I want to complain about the lack of raisins in the Rum Raisin ice cream. There was an incident where I ordered the ice cream, and only ONE raisin! True story...
Project_gal Posted February 12, 2015 #49 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Sour Patch Kids Are they the jelly sweets [uS: jello candy?] with the wonderful blue ones? I became addicted to the blue ones on our latest cruise. Our butler used to get them for us but I had no idea what they are called.
Rare uktog Posted February 12, 2015 #50 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I am concerned on my last Sillhouette cruise there was a distinct shortage of bright blue m and ms, jelly beans and other associated sweets. I need to collect these lovely bright blue E ridden delights so I can give them to any annoying kid each evening. I know how much their mummies and daddies love me at 1am when I do that
