Hi Everyone !

Just an FYI .. it is official that Infinity will be in the Caribbean this season, and Millennium will be headed to South America. As expected, the change will take place on 12/24.

Also of note : Century will be doing some extra 7 night Western Caribbean sailings on 3/19, 3/26, 4/2 and 4/9/06, as Infinity will be in Drydock from 3/19 - 4/2/06.

Here is the Press Release for those who wish to read the details :

That explains why Simon moved from the Infinty to the Millennium.

It nice to see corporate keeping up with our boards.

That also explains why a stop sell was put on the Century before the drydock. If you remember they stopped selling in March and April and we thought it might be for extending the drydock. Close, it was for Infinity's drydock.

Sucks for me, as I have been looking for an opportunity to sail on Infinity and here it is. Don't want Alaska and can't do longer than 10 night.

Kathy is pregnant and due in February, so no winter cruise for us this year.

Hi Rick !

Congrats on your wife's pregnancy !

Yes, when I noticed Simon was moved to Millennium, I figured that make this rumor even more likely. I do not think he was supposed to be on Millennium, but.... there he is.

I am definately going to try to book Infinity when she is in the Caribbean this season. My last sailing on Millennium was not a good one, but that was more due to a few people on the ship that were very disappointing. It had nothing to do with the ship, and I am sure they are no longer there. I would still sail on Millennium, but I would rather sail on Infinity. Now, I will have a chance !

Andy -

We are booked on the April 9 Millennium. Now it looks like both ships will be in the Caribbean on April 9 - will we still be on the Mille? I'm confused!

Hi Prcox !

No need to worry. This change does not affect you. Millennium will be back in the Caribbean starting on 4/2/06. You will be on Millennium.

Century being in the Caribbean as well, is simply an addition. I hope that answers your question. Enjoy your Cruise !

Prcox - I think the article says the Century is doing the April 9th sailing - not the Infinity. The Infinity will be doing the Panama Canal trip as scheduled (I hope, as I am due to be on it!!)

Hi Uk Cruiser !

No, this is not correct. Century is doing additional sailings. Century is not doing a sailing in place of Millennium on 4/9. Millennium will be back in the Caribbean starting on 4/2.

According to the Press Release, Infinity WILL be doing the 4/2 Panama Canal sailing.

I just wanted to clarify your post.

Rick - Nick & I send Congratulations to you and Kathy. I remember this being one of your future goals when we sailed together ;)

So I guess it's true that Simon will not be on the Infinity October 9th when we sail??? :(

Since our sailing on the Millenium is 12/11/05 we don't switch ships but I am sort of torn. We love the sports bar on Millie but have been on her before. Infinity would be ever so slightly different and that could be nice too. Then again the Millenium will be just out of drydock.

Andy - yes, that's what I meant...the Millenium and Century doing the Caribbean and the Infinity doing the Panama Canal....you put it much more succinctly than I! Thanks for the clarification.

The 2 April cruise will be our first on Celebrity so I am hoping that the dry-dock goes according to plan and everything will be ready for us.

Hi , We too are on the Infinity on April 2nd Panama Canal.

The article says that Infinity will be in dry dock until April 6th.

What will this mean to our cruise?

I'll be on the cruise as well :D

I think they typo'd somewhere. They said from March 20th to April 6th in one place, however if you read where they talk about the itineraries Infinity will be doing they say she is in drydock from March 19th to April 2nd, which would coincide with our April 2nd cruise. :)

I have this uncanny ability to book cruises Celebrity pulls. This is the fourth time it has happened. We were scheduled to sail the Millennium March 26th. I have air and everything booked. Well now the Infinity replaces the Millennium (no problem), but the Infinity will be dry docked March 20--April 6th. So the bottom line is -- my cruise is cancelled!

I'm so use to this that I don't miss a beat--I put a 48 hour hold on a cabin on the Century (leaves the same day March 26th). Not sure Celebrity will do anything for us. This summer when the pulled the Century from the Caribbean we didn't have any options, except switching to a Royal Caribbean Ship (no thanks). I understand--so I'm a lemons to lemonaide kind of person and this is not a big deal. By the way, the prices on the Century look pretty good.:D

Life is still good!

I got this email from my TA today:

Good Afternoon,

I received confirmation today that the Infinity is

definitely taking over for the Millennium. They informed me that you

will be on the Infinity.

Was looking forward to sailing on Mille post November Dry Dock. Now will be on Infinity headed to a drydock. Sigh.

It could always be worse as at least I am alive and going on a cruise.

Hi, Kel - just to make sure, are there any other cruises that you booked for the future, besides the ones listed in your signature ??? Just checking.

And, yes - "Life is still good" for so many of us - I am watching TV right now and I even feel guilty 'talking ' about any cruise, regardless if is cancelled or not......is it really important ?

I just checked the Celebrity site and it appear that the Jan 08, 2006 cruise has diappeared. Infinity is listed for Jan 02 and Jan 14, but there is no Jan 08 cruise. I assume this is just an error, but stranger things have happeded.
Ok now I am in a panic. I just noticed this too.

There are cruises on the 2nd, 15th and 29th. But none listed for the 8th (our cruise) and the 22nd.

I am hoping that this is a just a website slowdown (right hand not getting the information updated while the left hand puts out the news release).

EDITED: I just got off the phone with Celebrity and then Captain's Club and was told the website just has not been updated yet to reflect the change.

Whew

No need to panic. The website is messed up. Someone forgot to update the Destination field in the database. When I searched for South America cruise on Infinity or Millenium, nothing shows up for January.

However when I search for all Destinations on Millenium in Jan 2006, the 2 South America cruises show up, but the destination still says Caribbean!

Hi Wes,

Yes, my signature is accurate. As of next tuesday, the Millennium (March 26th, 2006, will be replaced with the Century (same date). Changing cruise ships is not a big deal compared to what's going on in the world.

Enjoy!

Hello !

I do think that was a typo of some sort. In one release, it still shows Infinity's sail date as April 2. I still see Infinity doing her regularly scheduled Panama Canal on April 2. Therefore, I do not think anything has changed.

Just to be on the safe side, you should call Captain's Club and confirm with them.

Enjoy your Cruise !

Hi Flagger !

Glad everything is fine. As of about 2 hours ago, Celebrity's website was still very messed up regarding the changes. In this case, I really cant blame Celebrity at all. It is a lot of changes to put into the database.

Hopefully, it will be corrected later or tomorrow. Enjoy your Cruise !

Hi Kel !

Sorry to hear about that. At least you can sail on Century. If you have not been on her before, she is a great ship. Personally, I would not be terribly disappointed, as it is not a total cancellation, being that you have another Celebrity option.

I will be sailing on Century again, in about 10 weeks. I cant wait !

Enjoy your Cruise !

Okay so the March 26th cruise on the Mille is no longer available? We were booked on that cruise, we actually booked through celebrity and they have not notified us.

I went to their website to look up our reservation and it is telling me there is no reservation listed.

I called Celebrity and the gentleman I spoke to tells me we are still booked on the Mille. But I do see that the Infinity has replaced the Mille for that cruise. I wonder if the cabins are the same? we had booked cabin 8030???
