What it consists of? Select dining is going to eat at whatever time

you want.

Select dining consists of dining in the main dining room at whatever time you choose. If a table is available, you will be seated immediately. If there are no tables available, you will be asked to wait, much like a regular restaurant.

Please briefly what Select Dinning consists of. Thanks
Well, you can make a reservation for Select Dining if you like, but to us that defeats the advantage of Select Dining: the freedom and flexibility to have dinner spontaneously every day whenever you feel like eating and the timing is convenient for you.

You don't need to stop and interrupt whatever it is that you are doing and enjoying just because it is your assigned time to go to dinner.

It is rather like having dinner at a neighborhood restaurant where you can either make a reservation for a set time in advance, or just show up without a reservation whenever you feel like going and be seated at whatever table is available.

Another advantage is that as you meet new people, if you wish you can have dinner with them if they also have Select dining, since you are not stuck at the same table with the same people at the same time every night.

As much as we may enjoy dining with our regular companions, it is also nice to meet new people and have dinner with others from time to time.

You may prechoose a time or just show up. You can choose the size of table that you like. The menu is the regular MDR menu.

We would often put our name in for a table about 20 minutes before we actually wanted to sit down to dinner and them go enjoy a drink while we waited for one to become avsilable. The Eclipse staff would give us a buzzer to let us know ehen our table was ready. It worked well for us.

I like Select dining as 'Early' is too early (6pm), especially if you have a port intensive cruise and 'Late ' is too late (8.30pm)

The biggest disadvantage is that you don't really form friendships as you do on early or late sittings, as you will be seated at the next available table.

However, when we sailed Eclipse, March '13 we pre booked for 7.15 as the Canadian couple that we were travelling with, liked to eat reasonably early.

We ended up sitting in the same section of the dining room, with the same maitr'd, which was useful for me as I am dairy intolerant and pre order for the next night.

We enjoyed meeting lots of different people at the tables near us each nigh. The staff got to know us and when they saw we really enjoyed/connected with a particular couple who sat at the table next to us one night, they would automaticslly put us at our same tables every night after that. The dining rool staff are amazing. Andrea, at the select reservation desk on the Eclipse totally impressed me.
