Hello, I just returned from the 3/21/15 sailing. I had a great time and am looking forward to returning next weekend with my family for my mother's

90th birthday party. Here are a few thoughts:

Embarkation: Long. Arrived at the port at 12:30 PM and did not walk on the ship until an hour and a half later. They need to do something about the long lines. I met someone at dinner who did not experience any lines at check-in. They arrived to the port at 4 PM.

Food: I thought the food was very good and similar to what you are accustomed to on the Bahamas Celebration, except they do not have the Brazilian offerings. Admiralty Restaurant is the specialty restaurant and is only $13.00. It is not as quaint as the Cove Restaurant.

Air Conditioning: Uncomfortable for embarkation lunch and room temperature until the ship was under way. Then it was cold. Bring a shawl. I was cold the second night.

Shows: The comedian was not that great. He even repeated one of his jokes on the second evening. The rest of the shows were great and not to be missed.

Crew: Very Friendly. I enjoyed seeing familiar faces from the Bahamas Celebration. I spoke to one of the Bartenders and she said the cruise line took care of them after the Halloween incident. They put them up for 10 days at the Grand Lucayan and then paid for their transport home and salary for the month and half they were not working. She pointed out the Bahamas Celebration off in the distance. So it is still there in the Bahamas.

Drinks: I purchased the 10 coupon drink package. It came to $74.75 with the tip added. I have some leftover coupons that I will be using next week. They had 2 BOGOS in the Encore Bar at the casino both nights from 8 to 8:30 and 10 to 10:30 PM. There was a wine tasting the first day at 3:30 PM that only cost $12. I enjoyed that also.

Tour: Went to Grand Lucayan. The price went to $41 without lunch. I knew from previous sailing that the lunch was not that good, so by passed that option that cost $53. There was a bar that sold food and drinks. They had a hot dog for $8 and some sandwiches for $10. Some people walked across to the market place and raved about the conch fritters and conch salad. I had 2 drinks at the bar and it came to $16 with tip for the 2 of them. I was a little upset that they took us to a different area of the hotel than on the last 2 cruises. They said it was because the hotel was full. I walked over to the other side and it was full over there and decided that it was better where we were. There is no umbrellas in the new location, so bring your sunscreen and hats. You can move your chairs around under the palm trees to get out of the sun.

Ship: I thought the ship was very nice and in good shape. It may be a little too big for a 2 day cruise. I wasn't able to do and see everything that I wanted to. I missed the Bahamas Celebration and I think the crew misses it too. One comment a crew member made was is the ship is so big that if you have a break, it takes too long to get back to the cabin. Also, even though the crew cabins were tiny on the Bahamas Celebration, they had their own bathrooms. Now three cabins share the same bathroom facilities.

Debarkation: It took 45 minutes from the time we decided to get off the ship until we got in our car, so that was not too bad.

Any questions, please feel free to ask. I can't wait to go back next week;)

How big is the Casino?

Did you get pics?

The casino was a good size, but I noticed there seemed to be less slot machines. It was confirmed by a crew member that there were 30 less slot machines. I really didn't get too many pictures. I took some at sail away from the Dancing Martian bar at the back of the ship and that was it. I will take more pictures next week, especially since it is a big celebration for my mother.

sounds like it was beautiful. What cabin were you in and was it clean and spacious? Still, like you I am sad that the BC is gone, she was special😪 I am sailing on her May 20th and will be on the 11th deck in one of the balcony suites. The crew on the BC were great, too bad Steve Zimmerman is no longer with the crew. Did you like the new cruise director?

I was in an inside and it was perfectly suitable for a 2 night cruise. The room was spacious too. Next week, I will also be on deck 11 in V-4 suite. I walked up to the suite section and it looked nice, but all the doors were closed, so I could not see much.

I miss Steve Zimmerman too. The new cruise director is a dud.
