Room service and to go food

Recommended Posts

Just got off the Getaway and there was no charges for room service. I just called my butler and he brought whatever I asked and when I checked my bill there were no charges. I'm not sure if it's a suite perk or if everyone gets free room service.

It's a suite perk. Other cabin categories pay a service charge for room service, other than for a limited number of breakfast items during breakfast hours.

Off the Breakaway Sunday. There was no problem taking food to the cabins, although I don't know why anyone would want to eat anything but a snack in those tiny rooms. I even saw people walking around with plates of wrapped desserts. There were plates in the hallways, but they were picked up pretty quickly. The room stewards stay busy. (Our steward told us he works 10 hour days, 7 days a week.)

It's not problem anymore. NCL reversed their rule a while ago. We were on the Gem at the end May. I must say we saw some real abuse. There was a mother at the counter in O'sheehan's with 4 kids around 11:00 PM. They must have brought them out 12 covered plates to take back the room. When one came out, she decided she didn;t want that one and ordered something else. Heck, they were all there, just eat it there. It didn't look like any of them had missed a meal for a long time. I don't think they really needed it. I can imagine the poor room steward having to clean all that up.

I agree with you. Just abusing the system. Eat at the restaurant or order room service.
