What is your main goal for your trip to Atlantis? Do you want access to the water park/pools/beach/dig or are you looking for just the beach/dig? The cost is pretty similar between buying your day pass directly at Atlantis or going through the cruise line. At least that is what I discovered recently. You'll have access to beach chairs no matter which option you choose.

I am sailing on NCL as well and you have your choice of 2 basic Atlantis excursions one WITH water park one WITHOUT. The bad thing (to me anyway) about doing it through NCL is that you're on THEIR timeline. You have to catch a bus there at a certain time and back at a certain time. I prefer to do it on my own time and it is VERY easy to just jump in a taxi at the port to Atlantis for about $5 per person one way. If you do the beach day pass through Atlantis, they also give you a lunch voucher which is nice. Not sure if that is included in the water park option or not, it probably is. I emailed Atlantis last night about this exact topic and this is their response:

>>>>The Beach Day Pass is $80 per adult and $49 for children 4-12. The pass includes The Discover Atlantis Aquarium Tour, Dig access, lunch, access to the Paradise Lagoon Beach, Atlantis beach and all marine habitats. If you would like to have access to the water park as well as the options mentioned in the Beach Day Pass, you may purchase the Aquaventure Day Pass. The Aquaventure Day Pass would be $145-$159 per adult based on availability and $90 for children 4-12. The pass would include access to the Dig and other marine habitats, beaches and water park including: slides, pools, river rapids and private lagoons.

Day passes are available for purchase on the resort for the day of arrival and cannot be purchased in advance. These passes can be purchased at the Discover Atlantis Desk at the Coral Towers.Passes are available at 9am. Operating hours for the day passes are from 9am-7pm. Please note that rates are subject to change at any moment.>>>>>

Lilystar...thanks for the input. I wanted to experience the Atlantis property...slides, waterpark, aquarium. I went back to NCL and see the two offerings and surmised just about the same as you mentioned - the bus is at their timetable which is always dependent on the slowest person in the bus! I, also, stay away from the bus tours. So looking now at Sandals or Beaches day pass versus doing a reservation through Comfort Suites. We will be in Bahamas twice in the same two week period so weighing all options. We stayed at the Hilton for a week a few years ago when our daughter was married there. Nice property...but small beach...limited grounds. Thanks for your reply...

We did Atlantis once through the ship, because it happened to be cheaper than doing it on our own. They gave us wristbands outside the ship, we walked to festival place, where all of the taxis were, and got into small buses/big vans, so there was no waiting. We ditched the your guides when we got there, grabbed loungers, and swam until the slides opened 45 minutes later. When we were ready to leave, we got into a waiting van, and were off. We were prepared to pay for a taxi on either end, but it wasn't necessary.

We will be in Nassau early February. Will the water be cold at that time of year?

I also looked at the Comfort Suits website and didn't see any mention of admission to Atlantis. We are a group of 2 adults, 2 seniors, 1 teen, And a toddler. At least the teen and one adult will want to utilize the slides. Does the CS pass include access to those?

Also I may have misread, but it sounds like lunch is included?

Thanks!

Water can be cool this time of year.. It's winter in the bahamas. Depends if there's a cold front.

With that said, booking Comfort Suites does NOT include lunch, and the room will allow only 4 people (5 if there is a toddler under 4).

In order to enter the Atlantis Property, everyone will need to be registered in the room or buy a pass. Even if only the teen and one adult wants the water park, everyone will need a full access pass to enter Atlantis and be on the grounds.

Booking 1 room and purchaseing a single kids pass thru the cruiseline or at the front desk would be the way to go.

WE are going to purchase who want the water park at Atlantis through Bahamasdaypass. We are a family of 11 and 3 of us just want to visit the resort, shop, eat and go to the casino. Anyone know if there is a tour ticket for this from Bahamsdaypass or can we just take cabs with the others in our group and do our own thing?

Just a note - we were on a Celebrity cruise this summer and sailed to various locations in Italy and France on Celebrity. We connected with other CC members and hired private tours and never had a problem at all. More personal(total of 8 at most in a van) and much less expensive. Just be clear on your return time and you will be fine.

There are 3 passes, water park/beach/aquarium, beach/aquarium, aquarium. Only the water park option lets you roam the grounds. You can go to the casino for free.
