Are the new cruise certificates out yet - I believe they are due out this month? Then next ones in January? can anyone comment?

Thanks!

I received two certificates in mid and late September and the cruise offerings went out through the end of March (Oceanview) or very early April (JS).  I'll likely get another in early November and will provide an update then.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but I have a free cruise booked thru Club Royale (one of several really) on Dec.9th on the Mariner.  One of the holiday perks is a "hosted gift exchange", but we have no other info on this.  Anyone else have this perk or know anything about it?

🎅 TIA

Lori

I believe it’s from this offer. Dh didn’t receive it himself but I believe  that he is eligible. We can’t go because we work around the local school calendar, but I would love to go if it’s offered next year ( we hope to be retired by then!) Hopefully, next year there will be another Galveston sailing included!

I am on that same cruise under the Mingle and Jingle offer. I asked about the “hosted gift exchange “ when I booked my cruise and was told by Casino Royale that I was not expected to bring a gift, if that helps.

Someone posted earlier.  I can't remember if it was FB or CC.  The casino supplies the gift and from what they said they were pretty good.  I wish I could have booked, but I was already booked on Anthem with a friend.

I think it is a given that we will be receiving a gift but we are not expected to bring a gift for the so called “gift exchange”.

Question - Does anyone ever receive offers for Europe or Asia, and if yes, when do they come out?  I am prime and will be again next year on RCCL.

I've only seen one European sailing on a casino certificate.  You should, however, be able to use your tier cruise anywhere Royal sails subject to the cruise length limit and the holidays.  Just watch your offers and review your casino offers web page on an ongoing basis.

2017, 2018, & 2019 each had DEST mailings for Med cruises.  in 2019 it was H19DEST06 that I received.  Brilliance out of Barcelona sailing 10/13/2019.

Does the Royal Casino have a friends/family discount you can pass on?

If you are Prime you can book two additional cabins for family or friends and receive an extra 5% casino discount.  If you are signature the discount is 10% and if you are Master, you will receive the casino rate.  I got this info from a CR rep I spoke to earlier today.  You can use a discount certificate but the party named on the certificate or the online offer has to be one of the cabin occupants.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi all,

I made Prime back in April, and the hubby just made it a few weeks back. We have questions!

1) Club Royale page - I have 5 mystery offers, with no corresponding email! Is there anywhere I can find out what the codes mean, offer-wise? I'm pretty visual, having the Casino Royale folks verbally tell me the deal makes my head spin.

2) We earned (together) $700 in discount certificates on our last cruise. Looking to use them...can we apply them to a "free interior" sort of cruise to get an upgrade? Or together with any of the "take $250/400 off the price" Club Royale code listings?

3) If all goes well, we're moving to Europe in the spring. We'll both have our free annual cruises loaded by then - can we use them over there? Will we start getting European offers? It'll be a little hard to get back to the US for a free cruise! 🙂

Mystery offers can occasionally be identified by the offer code.  When code requests are posted here or at that other social site occasionally someone with the same offer will respond with the list of sailings and dates.

When combining offers to get a higher class of room / better discount they will only use one offer from you and one offer from your husband.

Congrats on the relocation.  I have only done short projects (a month to a few months at a time) in Europe but found it interesting living and working in different parts of Europe.  As to getting European offers, I think I would be keeping a US address and email on file.  See lots of complaints posted from Europeans, Australians, and others about how Club Royale never sends them emails or postal mails.  While European cruise offerings are few to us in the US, the $off and Prime cruises can be used over there.

Thanks for the info! We’re excited about Europe - fingers are crossed.

I think I want to clarify - so because we’re likely headed overseas mid-spring 2020 (but it’s not certain yet), we’re having trouble booking dates. We have $700 of “earned on a cruise, must book within 30 days” credit. We tried to combine it to upgrade a free interior cruise in March, but the rep *seemed* to tell us no, but we had a TON of communications issues with him, definitely not on the same page! But we can’t seem to find any cruise to use the $700 on (without spending at least that much in flights), because we’d have to sail in the next few months....we don’t know where we’ll be living after that!

I guess my question is, then, does Club Royale let us combine the “$300 off/earned on a cruise” type credits with any of their Club Royale offers? I’m going to be super sad if we have to let it expire because we don’t know where we’ll be for half the year. It’s definitely our problem, not RC’s, just trying to figure out our options.

Not offended at all - the point here is to share and help each other!

I have only cruised once with Royal this year on an 8-day cruise.  I made Signature on that one cruise.  I believe I earned ~38K points.  My total loss was $9K (I had 3 handpays that I cycled back.)  I play only slots.  My average bet is at minimum $5 but if I am doing well I bet more.  The Dancing Drum machines on the Anthem on my cruise were 2 cent machines, so I was playing $17.60 when I was winning - I play $20 a spin on Wheel of Fortune.  I spend an average of 4-5 hours a day in the casino on sea days, probably 2-3 on port days. (I go to bed early LOL.)

I get tons of offers from Royal but I haven't booked anything else with them - I may do one in 2020.  I cruise at least 4 times a year on NCL and I have been getting Haven comps with them, and I like NCL better overall.

Hope that helps! 😊

pcakes122: Haven't sailed with CAS for awhile but do they still charge the admin fees for higher program status players and/or higher level room comps? That's what always annoys us about NCL/CAS and we have not really sailed and played with them when we can get tons of comps from Royal and Carnival and more free cruises than we can ever go on.

Very good point.  I get no offers being UK based and complaining has done no good at all.  I was told that there is a legal reason for it.  I really don't think that's true.

I have seen several posts that poster combined offers when both received a certificate onboard but have not heard of anyone getting an emailed offer combined with an onboard certificate even when there are two people involved each with an offer.  If it helps, I have let my last four onboard certificates expire ($ off, Insides, & a Balcony) unused but still managed to book sailings I wanted from the monthly offers as well as this year's Prime offer.

In 2018 EU put in place the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which gets very specific in what it takes for someone to opt in to receiving marketing emails.  Club Royale's methods for obtaining and maintaining email addresses does not appear to meet GDPR.  Guessing it is easier to strip foreign addresses from their email list than to build and maintain a GDPR compliant system.  Australia, Canada, and other countries have different variants as to sending marketing emails so thinking all non-US customers get culled.

The last 2 years they have not charged the wife and I. However NCL sure charges that "admin fee" or what used to be an "NCF non-commissionable fare".

I have had to let several of the dollars certs go unused as Royal would not let me or my wife combine them with any other offers.

An exception: If on the same cruise you and your wife each get offers. Say like an inside and a cert for $$ off. You can combine the 2 for an upgrade.

Yes, NCL charges the $20 per day admin fee on each comp.  I've been getting great comps from them this year (Haven), so it's worth the $140 a week (plus port charges of course!)   On the other hand, I have tons of offers from Royal but I just cant get myself to book.  I just don't feel the love from the hosts in Royal casinos.

BTW, on a whim I called Celebrity Blue Chip (haven't sailed with them since 2017 so I no longer have tier status) and they offered me a veranda on the Summit next summer.  I know they no longer are "officially" reciprocal with Club Royale, but I wonder if they can still see my Royal play?

I don't think Blue Chip analyzes Club Royale member play history. The changes to Blue Chip are terrible.

Have you heard about URCOMPED? We did one cruise (Celebrity Edge) with them and had a good experience, so we booked another cruise through them in March from Singapore to Mumbai on Crystal Cruises. This will be our first time cruising on a 5* cruiseline and felt this was a great way to try the premium cruise experience. Unfortunately if you're a NCL fan URCOMPED doesn't work with them. The majority of their cruise offerings are on Royal, Celebrity, MSC, Crystal.

I always wondered how URcomped worked? If I get  a free oceanview or interior do they match it somehow?
