Quiet Yes – for the most part. On occasion, a neighbor would slam theirbalcony door or room door which can be pretty loud, but I didn’t really hearanyone else in their rooms or in the hallway. Also, we could barely hear the announcements that were being made in thehallway without opening the door so the speaker isn’t that close to the door.

Balcony Size Not sure of the dimensions but the balconywas more than enough for 2 chairs and a small round table, and perfect for 2 people… maybe even more!

View Nice view of the water, the starboard bridge wing, and of the people onthe balconies below us. Also, forwardenough to get a good view of the pilot boats and tugs as you pull into port.

Privacy Issues Mostly private if there are nobody on theirbalconies on the Caribe or Dolphin decks as they have larger balconies and dueto the tier structure of balconies, they are able to see you if they arestanding by the railings. Not really anissue though – we liked chatting with our neighbors around us.

Wind Not any more than expected.

Soot None

Problems None

Comments I really liked this room – it is forward mid-ship and pretty close (maybe5 rooms down) to the nearest elevator bank so far enough away to be quiet butclose to make getting to the elevator quick. This elevator bank is by Gatsby’s Casino and very convenient/close whengoing to the Princess Theater or meeting in the conference room for theUltimate Ship Tour. The room was veryclean and didn’t have any stale/mildew/strange odors.

Ship: Coral Princess

Class: Coral

Deck: Carib, Deck 10

Cabin #: C204

Category: MY

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Port / Bow

Connects With Cabin #: Does not interconnect.

Accessible: No

Quiet: Usually. Exceptions are occasional faint music from production shows and passengers letting the door to the front observation balcony slam while going through the Panama Canal.

Balcony Size: No balcony

View: Large window

Privacy Issues: None. There was very little corridor traffic except when going through the PC.

Wind: None

Soot: None

Problems: None

Comments: The three of us really appreciated the size of the cabin. It is a mini suite w/o balcony. The space which would be the balcony is added to the floor space of the room. We would book this category again should the opportunity present itself.

Ship: Regal

Class: Royal

Deck: 9 Dolphin

Cabin #: D726

Category: S2 suite

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Port, Stern

Connects With Cabin: No

Accessible: No

Quiet: Very - felt like we were the only ones on the ship

Balcony Size: Enormous!! Nearly as big as the cabin!

View: Aft (wake) and port side

Privacy Issues: Although the aft section is only about 3/4 covered, no one can see you unless you're standing right at the rail. Half of the balcony is completely covered.

Wind: Only on the port side area.

Soot: Very, very little. We would occasionally find a few soot pieces on the deck floor, but not a problem at all.

Problems: The living room was pretty small considering the size of the balcony, but this was the nicest Princess suite we've ever had. We only had one stuffed chair, which was in the living room, but pictures I've seen had another one in the bedroom - we didn't have that.

Comments: Loved that there was a "hallway" area (with the closets) between the living room and bedroom. There was a curtain that can be pulled across the entry to the bedroom too. Wish this were the arrangement for all Princess suites. The bathroom was very nice with one sink in the larger half with a large countertop area. All done in marble and granite. Separate bathtub and large shower. Another sink in the smaller part with the toilet. 2 desks and 2 sliding glass doors - one each in the living room and one each in the bedroom. If you want to entertain, the balcony is ideal. It has a large table, 4 chairs, 2 loungers and 2 small tables next to the loungers and many people can fit out there. It was great for sailaways.

Ship: Regal Princess

Class: Royal

Deck: Emerald

Cabin #: E207

Category: DF

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Starboard

Connects With Cabin #: no

Accessible: no

Quiet: no, the bass/low frequencies from the theater resonate through the walls. We ultimately had to move because DW wasn't sleeping well.

Balcony Size: Normal for this class, meaning it's small

View: Very good, unobstructed view.

Privacy Issues: None observed

Wind: Breezy when under way, but nothing horrible.

Soot: None

Problems: As mentioned above, this cabin is above the theater and the sound, especially the bass, comes through and resonates in the walls. We ultimately asked to be moved because DW had not been sleeping well and was miserable.

Comments: Avoid if you're sensitive to noise.

Ship: Crown Princess

Deck: Lido (15)

Cabin: L102

Category: Ocean view obstructed

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Bow

Connects With Cabin #: no

Accessible: no

Quiet: yes but see comments below

Balcony Size: n/a

View: sky and flag post (in front of the ship)

Privacy Issues: none

Wind: n/a

Soot: n/a

Problems: see comments below

Comments: L102 is the smallest of the oceanview obstructed cabins all the way in front of the ship on the Lido Deck. Very comfortable. No noise from neighboring cabins nor from hallway as there is very little foot traffic near the cabin. However, the treadmills at the Gym are right above the cabin. Treadmills can only be used between 8am and 8pm -- this rule is enforced. As we spent little time in the cabin between 8am and 8pm, the stomping did not bother us, but I needed to point this out. Taking a shower before dinner felt like being inside a giant beating heart because of the runners on the treadmills right above. ;p Location is very convenient and we would book it again.

Ship - Crown

Class - Grand

Deck - Emerald/8

Cabin # - E732

Category - Ocho Rios suite

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern - aft

Connects With Cabin # - n/a

Accessible - no

Quiet - most of the time...it's over Club Fusion so we did sometimes hear the activities going on

Balcony Size - large but there is an obstruction from a support beam (really not an issue)

View - unobstructed aft views

Privacy Issues - none

Wind - very little

Soot - none

Problems - lots of vibration when docking. We joked that we didn't need to set an alarm or wake up call because everything would start shaking once the ship started to dock. Also could hear the goings on in Club Fusion (directly below) from time to time.

Comments - no shelves by the bathroom sink! First time we've seen this in a suite. Rather annoying to have to keep all my makeup, moisturizers, etc in my travel case rather than be able to unpack once and get on with the trip. Would not book this suite again because of that plus the vibration and Club Fusion noise.

Quiet Yes, except some brief minor anchor noise when the anchor is going up or down.

Balcony Size None

View Window, looking out through the upper promenade. Can see horizon with no obstruction, but can't look up or down very much.

Privacy Issues The upper promenade passes right outside the window, and you will often see passengers walking by. The window is a one-way mirror, and it is practically impossible for people outside to see from the promenade into the cabin (we tried). After dark, the upper promenade is closed to passengers, so the issue goes away. Of course, curtains can be drawn if desired.

Wind None

Soot None

Problems None

Comments This cabin has the standard two-twin beds that can be pushed together to make a queen bed, and it also has two upper beds that swing down from the walls, so it can sleep four. We were traveling with children, and used all four beds. An issue is that, in order to use the ladders for the upper beds, the lower beds must be separated into two twins, each against the wall, rather than made up as one queen.

Looking at the deck plan before our trip, I was concerned about noise from the nearby theater below us, but try as I might, I could not hear any theater noise at all during our entire cruise. I think the theater was far enough aft of our cabin that it wasn't audible.

Quiet The cabin was quiet. Occasionally we could hear an adjoining sliding door slam shut. This cabin is located over the deck midships that is on 7 and we wondered if we'd hear noise from that, but we did not even though there were plenty of people out there every day.

Balcony Size Because it is curved, the balcony was larger than normal.

Comments This was listed as a DV, obstructed view. Shhh.... don't tell anyone, but it's not obstructed at all. And the balcony is larger than normal for these cabins.

Ship: Caribbean Princess

Stateroom # R338

Category: Balcony

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Port (Forward)

Connects With Cabin #: N/A

Accessible: No

Quiet: Not really

Balcony Size: Standard

View: Left to Right, good. Downward, obstruction.

Privacy Issues: No.

Wind: Can be windy, at times.

Soot: No problem

Problems: This balcony rm, just under deck 15. Can hear voices (when on balcony or have sliding door open) and can hear people walking above this room on deck. Attendants clean in early morning, 04:30-05:30, can hear them sliding deck chairs/tables around. Gets quiet around/after 01:00 in morning, when most venues are closed. Also, this ship, for most balcony rooms, deck 10-14, each of these floors are (tiered) outward, deck 14 and downwards. Can see into other balconys below you. This outward tiering prevents a good downward look to the water-somewhat.

Comments: Nice stateroom, halfway between stairwells/elevators. If one likes the nightlife, this is the room for you. For those who prefer getting to sleep earlier, this room may be too noisy for them. Great view from balcony, depending on wind currents, can get windy.

Ship: ROYAL PRINCESS

Class: Royal Class

Deck: EMERALD

Stateroom #: E729

Category: Full Suite

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: STARBOARD AFT

Connects With Cabin #: N/A

Accessible: No (there was a step in and out of the bathroom and the passageway where the closets are is very narrow)

Quiet: No, though only in 2 instances. (1) Although it is directly above the Vista Lounge, we never heard anything until the last night of our 5-day. We heard a lot of thumping bass until midnight. That is the ONLY time we heard anything from the Vista. (2) Sometimes you could hear an engine-type noise, but it seemed to happen very rarely (fewer than three times over 5 days and only for a short period—less than an hour). I really never heard anything else (we did have some loud neighbors above us but it was only noticeable when they were on their balcony).

Balcony Size: OVERSIZED (very). The balcony is ENORMOUS. There are two doors, one adjacent to the bedroom and one at the living room. There is a large table with chairs at the LR door, then a large expanse of space until you get to the 2 loungers (and small table between them) that are at the largest curve of the balcony as it wraps from aft to starboard. Lounge chairs can lay flat with a lot of room to the railing to walk by--no sideways chair problems here. The BR side has a small table and 2 chairs.

View: None. It’s totally unobstructed. You actually get a great view because of the wraparound.

Privacy Issues: None that I could see. Because of the cake-layer type setup of the ship (Emerald is the lowest balcony level at the back of the ship since underneath it is the Vista Lounge), technically the folks above us could have leaned over their balcony and seen us, but . . .

Wind: There were some issues with that. It was too windy to do our balcony dinner one night but that was just once. I was able to sit out there and there were a few nights we left the cushions out there (our steward would usually bring them in) and they had only moved about a bit.

Soot: I had heard that this could be a problem but I only saw the tiniest bit of soot on the larger table. I walked in socks and barefoot on the balcony and never noticed a soot problem.

Problems: It’s at the very back of the boat and the ship is large, so my 71 year old mother who has breathing problems had a rough time getting from other areas on the ship.

Comments: Wake view is amazing. Balcony isn't covered (just a small overhang that really doesn't count).

Suite perks are also amazing (and worth it).

They provide bath salts for the tub, which was very nice, and the shower was roomy. Only one toilet, in its own cubicle (with sink). Lot of room by the sinks in the shower/tub area to store things.

Our muster station was RIGHT below us (one level) so that was super easy.

The doors to the balcony slid open and if you didn't close them firmly, when the ship rocked, the door would slide back open.

The fridge is TINY (but nice to have).

My mother usually has motion sickness issues but you rarely feel like you're on a boat on this ship. She stopped taking the Dramamine the first day. The last night, as we were speeding back to Florida, you could feel a lot more motion than ever before where we were at the back, but it was still a lot less noticeable than the other ships I've sailed on! Very stable ship!

****The only other thing I’d like to bring up is that there is an outdoor smoking section directly under the room, but I never smelled any smoke. Still, if you have smoke sensitivity issues, you might not want to choose this room. I am not a smoker and don’t like smoke, but I never noticed a smell, even when we were in port and I was on my balcony. You do sometimes hear the smokers down there talking, but it’s not that noticeable.

Cabin# M107

Category: Mini suite M6 Club Class

Starboard side

Does not connect with other cabin

Quiet=yes

Balcony Size=super oversize

360 degree photo of M107 Balcony.

m107.jpg

Full size photo @ http://www.fastpictureframing.com/ak/m107.jpg

View=Obstructed because is surrounded with steel rails not glass. When on the balcony you a 270 degree view of the front, starboard and rear.

Wind, Yes and strong if the ship is sailing into the wind. Port days and times when ship is sailing downwind are lovely.

No soot

We had no problems with this cabin.

Comments: I was worried that there would not be enough storage with out the normal closet you normally get. The storage was more than we needed. Loved how it was separated into two rooms like a real suite. The balcony door was located on the starboard facing side of the cabin and could be open even with strong winds without a problem.

If you can book M107, M108 L107 or L108 do it you will not be disappointed.

Vertical movement can happen being on the front of the ship if weather is bad, if this is an issue then don't book.

View: Good, forward views blocked slightly by the bump out section; view down directly from the rail is to dolphin mini suite balconies; good view of water when seated

Privacy Issues: the bump out cabins just forward of us can see into the other balconies; cabins above can see you if you’re at the rail. I knew this ahead of time, plus No one in our Area used the balcony as much as we did, so it was not a big deal.

Privacy Issues -- None

Wind -- In port - N/A, At Sea - Okay

Soot -- N/A

Problems -- None

Comments -- Very nice for a Family or large group. Essentially, two Mini-Suites combined. Sleeps up to 8. Room is spacious. Room steward was very attentive. Two bathrooms. Both couches in the family room are worn, slightly ragged. Very difficult to sit without sliding off. 3 TVs allowed for viewing for different tastes. Good value!

Would book again in a heartbeat! :):):):)

Ship: Royal Princess

Date: May 1-13, 2018

Class: Suite

Deck: Riviera (14)

Cabin # R730

Category: Aft Penthouse Suite

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Port/Stern

Connects With Cabin # No

Accessible: No

Quiet: Yes

Balcony Size: Along with Sister cabin largest on ship

View: From the Stern, full view, very nice

Privacy Issues: There is some issue with people looking down from deck 15,16,17 - but only at the edge of the deck

Wind: Can get windy but was not an issue at all during our cruise

Soot: Yes, no matter what has been said, we had soot almost every day when it was not raining. The cabin steward had to wash down the deck, but it still left black streaks on deck and walls. It was not a lot, but had to leave the deck during the day because the ash was falling on the deck.

Problems: If you picked this cabin because you wanted to spend time on the large deck, I would say you will be disappointed. Aside from soot, the room is spacious, well appointed, plenty of room. I will not pick this cabin again.

Problems Noise from the Lido deck very noticeable in this cabin. Scrapping of chairs etc sounded like low rumbling thunder at times. Didn't really cause me a problem as we didn't spend too much time in the cabin but could be a problem for a light sleeper.

Quiet NO -- we were given a free upgrade to this room because of a glitch in our original booking. It was under part of a restaurant, but we were told they close at 10 p.m. and it would be fine. It's a mini-suite and much more space for three, but what they didn't tell us is that carts run across the floor all night. Finally by the third night we complained and they rerouted the cards and the rest of the cruise was quiet. We'd do this room again, but would mention rerouting the carts at the beginning of the cruise ;)

Balcony Size Very nice for 3

Privacy Issues None

Wind No problem

Soot None that we experienced

Problems See comments under "Quiet" above

Comments The room is a great size and layout and overall we had a great time.
