Ship: Coral Princess

Class: Sun Class

Deck: 9 (Dolphin)

Cabin #: D626

Category: BD

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Port Aft

Connects With Cabin #: None

Accessible: No

Quiet: Yes - despite proximity to stairs and lifts the cabin was very quiet

Balcony Size: Normal - two chairs/loungers and two foot rests, small table. Plenty of space.

View: Normal - unobstructed

Privacy Issues: None - balcony completely covered from above

Wind: OK

Soot: None

Problems: None

Comments: As a first time cruiser, I don't really have anything to compare this to, but I loved this cabin. It was very convenient for the aft stairs and lifts - really easy to pop down two flights of stairs to the Promenade deck for all amenities. I had been worried about seasickness, so spent a long time selecting the cabin, aiming for something as low and central as my budget would allow. There are three normal balcony cabins by the lifts on either side surrounded by mini-suites, and this turned out to be a great choice - I never felt queasy once. There was excellent storage space both for clothes, and for bits and pieces in the bathroom. I would recommend this cabin to anyone - it was extremely comfortable for a single traveller.

Ship - Caribbean Princess

Class - modified Grand

Deck - 9 (Dolphin)

Cabin # - D207

Category - Mini Suite

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern - Starboard

Connects With Cabin # - N/A

Accessible - No

Quiet - Yes

Balcony Size - Normal

View - Normal

Privacy Issues - Balcony is uncovered, can view from decks above.

Wind - about what you would expect being exposed as we were

Soot - no

Problems - none

Comments - 207 is toward the bow several cabins ahead of the front elevator bank so it is fairly quiet. Does mean you have to travel some to get to many destinations in the stern but we didn't mind. Mini suite layout gives you some space. We had a 3rd person in the suite sleeping on the fold out bed in the sofa which did make it somewhat crowded especially in the morning when the bed is still out. Our third cruise with the mini suite and we love it and love the balcony.

Problems: Queen bed configuration is inconvenient. Bed is pushed up against wall. Bed is worn out and needs to be replaced.

Comments: Princess “upgraded” us to this cabin from an interior cabin on Caride Deck 10 (the standard interior cabins are slightly wider). We enjoyed the central location of the cabin as it is right next to the Piazza. We ate in the Michaelangleo Dining room which was very convenient.

Disembarking the ship is very convenient as well. However, when the ship is ready to dock and undock from port the loud whine of the mooring line winch is heard. Not a problem when leaving port but at 6 or 7 am it is very annoying.

Also, when the ship stabilizer is out during rough seas the loud groans and shudders are heard and felt. Being the window is close to the water line you do hear the splash of the wake from the bow but it is not very annoying.

The cabin steward was not very helpful and seemed to be in a hurry to finish his daily rounds. We asked about a foam topper for the bed (which has been provided on other Princess ships- Emerald, Grand, Caribbean, Golden) but he wasn’t interested in supplying one.

Comments:  Noisy as this cabin is just below the pool deck. The noise from people adjusting their chairs is pretty bad. One night they had line dancing class right above our stateroom.

Soundproofing between cabins is quite good except from the TV in R510. Heard nothing from R516.

Wind  Usual

Soot  None

Problems.  “Directly across the hall is where staff brings all room service used dishes, glassware , trays & silverware 24 hours a day everyday to be washed “

Comments.  D703 should never have been a Full suite because of this location. Very noisy with clanking dishes, glassware ,trays & silverware they put on a very large & high carts , that is used half in & half out of the hall directly across from D703, all day & night.  If they would have been completely in the dishwashing room, might not have been such a noise problem, but 90% of the time they were in the hall with the huge cart dumping the dirty dishes.

Never ever have we had a noise problem on any Full Suite in all our 37 cruises with Princess.   Just want to warn others

We love the Coral ,  it’s our favorite ship, just not this cabin

Gave up on spreadsheet.  Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I tried following all the instructions posted and all I get are blank areas.  I just ended up scrolling through all 11 pages to find Island Princess reviews.

Ship: REGAL PRINCESS

Class: ROYAL

Deck: MARINA

Stateroom #: M409

Category: MINI-SUITE

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: STARBOARD

Connects With Cabin #: M411

Accessible: NO

Quiet: NO.

THIS ROOM IS VERY LOUD.  THREE FACTORS PLAY INTO THIS.  ONE, THE UNIT IS DIRECTLY UNDER THE MUTS POOL WITH DECK HANDS MOVING FURNITURE AROUND MIDNIGHT INTO THE MORNING.  TWO, THE BED IS UNDER THE MAIN WALK WAY OF THE LIDO DECK GOING BETWEEN THE GRILL AND THE BUFFETT.  ANYONE WHO WALKS HEAVY IS NOTICABLE.  FINALLY, THE ADJOINING SUITE HAS LITTLE TO KNOW SOUNDPROOFING BETWEEN THE UNITS.  THIS IS BOTHERSOME BECASUE YOU CAN HEAR WHATEVER THE OTHER GUESTS ARE WATCHING ON TV, IF THEIR PHONE IS RINGING, OR IF THEY ARE EVEN SPEAKING TO EACH OTHER.

THIS ALSO IS FRUSTRATING BECAUSE IF YOU ARE STAYING IN M409, YOU ARE ALWAYS THOUGHTFUL ABOUT NOT SPEAKING LOUDLY, HAVING THE TV ON, OR SETTING YOUR ALARM.

Balcony Size: OVERSIZED.  THIS IS A NICE FEATURE FOR THE ROOM.

View: OBSTRUCTED.

THE BALCONY REST UNDER THE SKY WALK ON THE LIDO DECK.  THE FLOOR OF THE LIDO DECK EXTENDS 12 FEET OUT FROM THE EDGE OF YOUR BALCONY.  THIS CAN BE NICE TO PROVIDE GOOD SHADE IF THAT IS SOMETHING PREFERRED, HOWEVER IT IS DIFFICULT TO TAKE PICTURES FROM YOUR BALCONY BECAUSE OF THE OVERHANG IMPEDING THE VIEW IN YOUR LENS FINDER.

THE OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VIEW IS LOOKING TOWARDS THE AFT OF THE SHIP.  THE SUPPORT FOR THE SKY WALK EXTENDS OUT FROM THE BALCONY MAKING LOOKING AFT DIFFICULT.

Privacy Issues: YES

THE CONNECTING SUITE MAKES CONVERSATIONS DIFFICULT.  EVERYTHING CAN BE HEARD BETWEEN THESE TWO UNITS.

Wind: NO MORE THAN TYPICAL.

Soot: NO

Problems: SEE ABOVE.  WE HAVE STAYED IN OTHER UNITS BELOW THE LIDO DECK AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SO MUCH NOISE FROM THE DECK ABOVE.  WE HAVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH DIFFICULTY SLEEPING ON A CRUISE.

SHIP:     Golden Princess

CATEGORY: Inside

PORT/ETC.:     Starboard

CONNECTS WITH CABIN #:     None

ACCESSIBLE:  No

QUIET:  NO

BALCONY SIZE:   N/A

VIEW:  N/A

PRIVACY ISSUES:  Sideways cabin so the bed is on display when you open the door. Wasn't an issue for us.

WIND:  N/A

SOOT:    N/A

PROBLEMS: Lots of banging and bashing noises. Very loud. In the bathroom there is a main drain that runs down the wall behind the toilet. There is a constant sound of water going down the drain. It's quite loud but only noticeable when in the bathroom. Weird. The steward said it was "normal" for that cabin.

COMMENTS:  Overall no real problems. The water noise in the bathroom was weird. The loud banging and bashing noises were fairly frequent but didn't ruin our cruise. Would probably not book this cabin again as there are better choices.

Panama Canal full transit, 15 days, April 2019

Ship - Island Princess

Class - Coral class

Category - BD

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern -  Stern, all the way aft

Accessible - nope

Quiet - yes

Balcony Size - normal

View - 180*

Privacy Issues - none

Soot - none

Problems -

Bathroom issues - the shower would not drain the first day, but our steward notified the engineers and they snaked the drain and it worked fine from then on. Toilet needed to be serviced twice. Not sure if it's related to the drainage issue in the shower?

* Balcony can get very warm, since it's almost entirely enclosed, but the view is fantastic when traversing the canal.  This is one of the added cabins from the retrofit of Island. There are no footstools on the balconies, and this was our only real complaint.

* TV satellite was out for several days, not sure if it was due to our location or other issues.

Comments -

* Everything was new! TV, Fridge, etc., all worked well.

* Beds were comfortable, in the 2 twin bed configuration. Lots of storage space underneath.

* No barrel chairs, for you barrel chair fans, but the round table was in the room. We moved it into the closet for the duration of our cruise.

* Laundry rooms are nearby.

* You will get your steps in each day, with the location of the cabin all the way aft, especially if you eat at the buffet!

* the hallway carpet trick still works; When facing the bow of the ship,  red border on the left (port), green border on the right (starboard)

Ship: Crown Princess

Class: Grand I think

Deck: 11 (Baja)

Cabin number: B254

Category: BB

Port/Mid Forward

Quiet: DEFINITELY not!! This cabin has a water drain of some kind going through the walls.  The noise is constant, like ninety percent of the time.  Even periodically during the night.

Privacy: fine

Problems: In addition to the constant water drainage noise, the TV has to be rebooted every time you use it.  You have to unplug it from the wall (not easy to do), wait a few minutes, then plug it back in, then wait for it to reboot like a computer. Not a "smart TV" in my opinion. The old TV's never had these issues.

Comments: I absolutely do NOT recommend this cabin. The other half of my family was in B258 next door and they had only slight muffled water drainage noise. Their TV also had to be rebooted but only about every other day.
