St,Petersburg "Ultimate: tour questions

When we were in St. Petersburg a few years ago we booked a private two-day tour with Alla. Our guide was excellent and very smart and knowledgeable. At our request we visited the Choral Synagogue and the Battleship Aurora. Had meals in local restaurants, good food but a huge cloud of cigarette smoke (Russians still smoke in public). I would recommend Alla highly based upon our experience.

Last June, we did a trans-Atlantic and Baltic back to back cruise with Crystal. St. Petersburg was an excellent experience. We arranged for a three day private tour with SPB-Tours. It was quite pricey, almost $1800 for the two of us, but we were pleased that we did it. We saw all of the major attractions, including the Peterhof, inside and out. The tour guide was very good at getting us around the crowds, which were extensive, with many pushy, selfie taking tourists. The guide was a bit short tempered at times, the only negative. We would not go back to St. Petersburg, as once was enough, but we were pleased that we experienced the city and did the private tour. Note that it is almost impossible to tour St. Petersburg unless you have a private guide or are part of an organized group.

Pams17, you asked if I remembered the cost of the Viking 2 day tour and I just ran across the literature. The Ultimate was $469 for our cruise in Sept., 2016. This does include the ballet. It did not include as much as our Alla grand tour and ours did not include the ballet. Our tour was priced $285 and we booked early so got a discount and final cost was $265, gratuities not included. You can see the difference in price and the websites can show you difference. For some reason, your post did not include the Quote option so hope you find this.

I can't say enough about the TJ's 2 day St. P tour very efficient fretting us out of the port and into the city, best part for you r friends who are worried they will pay to get you to next port if you miss the boat on second day. But really everything was professional and conditions were wonderful in our small group. We also used TJ's for the Berlin tour which is a very long day but again very organized and the small group was able to get around much better.
