vache Posted October 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2015 Hello All- I was finally able to take advantage of a free cruise offer from Carnival based on my casino play. The schedule never really works out for me. However I'm just wondering will my free cruise days count toward my VIFP days? I'm Gold and looking forward to Platinum status in the near future. Thanks in advance!

Davey Wavey Posted October 28, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 28, 2015 How much did you spend to get a free cruise? Or is it play time? Just curious as to what it takes. Congrats on your trip! I have posted this a few times for inquiring minds: ----Originally Posted by sassy5683 so if i'm doing my math right you have to spend $12,500 to get 5000 points to get offered a "free" cruise??? ---- ----Originally Posted by Davey Wavey Yes, correct!!!! BUT, that $12,500 is $12,500 PLAYED, not necessarily LOST. Let's do some casino math for the shocked and awed crowd. I'll use roulette since that is what I am most familiar, and this will be some loose math based on average statistics. Carnival's roulette wheel (zero and double zero) has a house edge of 5.26%, meaning for every $100 I bet (using the 1 in 38 chance to win) the casino will end up with $5. According to endless gambling research, people play 5 times the amount they start with at a sitting. So, if I start with $100 playing $10 per spin and keep replaying my winnings I should play $500 and end up with $75 left. If I keep playing my $75 I should play $375 and end up with $56. If I keep playing my $56 I should play $280 and end up with $42...and on and on. If I keep playing until my original $100 is all gone, I should have played $1835. Based on that, to reach $12,500 of PLAY, I should have lost $700. So, in this example a 5000 point free cruise is NOT $12,500 of cash out your pocket, but $700 (assuming you get the average number of wins and losses). So it is entirely possible for people to say they only had $100 and ended up $200 ahead and still got a free cruise. It's also possible for someone to play $10,000 and be horribly horribly unfortunate and lose every time and not get a free cruise. It's not the win and loss that the casino counts but the amount of PLAY. Please note this is based on a bunch of established averages and individual results WILL vary. ----

I earned the DOU card on day three. We were also given dinner at the steakhouse with a bottle of wine of our choice, and sent things to our cabin. I got new offers on Carnival select cruises and Premier cruises. Someone here was talking of how many points are needed to get a dou card upon the first day of boarding. So, since i only play Blackjack, No slots at all, I was curious about the point level i had reached. I emailed the casino a few days ago, and was told that because i am a table player, that my comps are based on win/loss. I ended up with what i figured was over 1500 points because of the dou card. I did play many more hours after that , some wins, some losses.. mzlinda Posted November 9, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 9, 2015 I got the DOU card on day 3, ended the cruise with about 3500 points. I got a bounce back offer under my door on the last night but no wine or strawberries (not that I was expecting any). I never met the casino host and I played mostly slots.
