Poker on Caribbean Princess ??

The Caribbean Princess casino does have an electronic Texas Hold'em poker table, but on our last cruise, I never saw anyone using it. On other Princess ships the casino has held poker tourney's and in the evening especially, the poker table was usually busy. Might want to check with the Casino Mgr. on embarkation day. Good luck and have fun on your cruise.

Does anybody know how much the rake is? I'll be cruising on the Caribbean Princess on December 13th and was curious about the poker conditions as well :)

Anybody know details on the tournaments there too? Does poker get rated (like towards getting casino rate on future cruises). What are the blinds? Min/max buyins? How's action normally?

Have never sailed Princess before and super curious about how poker is on their ships. We sailed NCL before and poker on there wasn't anything special.

Cool Beans ! You found the thread ! I have no idea what 90% of the jargon is that you just said but I hope someone else can. CC members are the absolute best at helping people get information !

I also remember that someone else on our role call had an "interest" in poker. You sound more serious than interested so maybe that won't be a good fit.

I hope this thread helps you as that was my intention, plus it sounds so exciting. I may have watched too many movies though !

See you in December,

Kristine

Thank you for the excellent information. I don't even play poker, but I like to be helpful to members of my roll call who do.

I was bragging about how CC members are the best, thanks for backing me up on that !!

There has been great action on every Caribbean cruise I have taken.

How many tournaments depends on the casino manager. On sea days there should be scheduled tournaments in the Patter.

I think ometauru (from our roll call) will be partnering with the casino manager to do some poker tournaments. We are on a western Caribbean out of Houston in December. With a strong El Nino in play across the region, we might have an extra sea day !

Thanks again,

Kristine

Haha thanks for making the thread. I don't really do poker tournaments since I'm probably the worst one on the ship at them, but I might try one out lol. I just like to know the rules of the game and what to expect. Haven't played poker in a long time and I know every place has different rules so I'm curious how Princess runs their game. Poker's definitely one of the more social games in the casino so hoping not to lose too much money on the trip and just have a good time! haha. Maybe I'll get lucky.

My last Princess cruise had a game every night. It was $1-2 no limit. The minimum buy in was $75, and the max $400. I believe the rake was 10% with a cap of $20. It was a high rake, but we were a captive audience. The games were lively with some of the players being the worst I have seen.

I only played in the tourney if there was not an absurd amout of re-buys. Any questions, ask away.

It sounds like this might be the best entertainment on board. Maybe if I watch I can bring ometauru some good luck !
