How to get Euros in Martinique

I've seen a lot of angst about arriving in Martinique without euros. Don't worry. There's an ATM machine just 2-3 blocks away. It's an ATM only on a corner in the base of a parking garage. You put your US ATM card in and tell it how many Euros you want to get out. No extra fees and the best exchange rate possible.

Couple things to note.

1. Call your US bank and let them know you'll be in Martinique so it's enabled

2. Your ATM PIN should be 4 digits long

3. You'll have to swipe or insert your card at the entrance to the ATM to get inside

I've attached a map showing where the ATM is and the cruise terminal so you get your bearings. It really just took 5 minutes and we were set. If you're out and about and need euros, any bank ATM should accept your US ATM card as long as the symbols on the back of your card(Plus, etc) match one of the symbols on the ATM. I have a Wells Fargo ATM and use it all over the world.

On a side note, we had a great time at the beach on Martinique and everyone was very nice to us. We had no problem charging our lunch on our visa card.
