bizzybee902 Posted November 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2015 Hello all! Bianca here with my six day review of the Carnival Breeze. This was my first cruise and I went solo. Sounds crazy right? Well I have wanted to cruise for a long time and I knew if I didn't go now I would have to wait another year. So I booked the Pride for Dec 6th-Dec 13th in August. Then I decided I could not wait that long and booked the Breeze Nov 15th-21st. There will be lots of pics (If I could figure out how to do that right), food porn, and chatting. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. [/img]

bizzybee902 Posted November 30, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) I flew out of Baltimore (BWI) the day of. I know sounds horrifying, but I figured it was just me and my flight left at 7am anyway. At 4:30 am I drove to the airport, parked in long-term parking, checked my bags outside with the express check-in people, went through TSA (approximately 20 mins), and with 15 mins to spare (6:15 am) I arrived at my plane. We boarded at 6:30 am exactly. I had a lovely window seat. I'm very adventurous, I don't mind being alone or in large groups, and I will volunteer for almost anything (stay tuned). I'm also terrified of heights. So after I prayed and we took off into the abyss; I looked out the window (of course I picked a window seat! Duh!) and realized that a piece of the plane's wing flew off!!! [/img] So naturally I panicked and convinced myself it was like that before we took off. Two hours and fourteen minutes later we were in Miami. It was a cloudy day. I was slightly bummed because I wanted pretty pics of Miami, but hey. I booked the Carnival shuttle from Miami Airport. Once we arrived I ran to the restroom and drew on my eyebrows (I don't have any. Seriously. Its a flaw.) I walk out to check in at the Carnival Miami Airport Check-In and the line is around the corner. Thankfully there was a very nice lady with a stapler that was helping us attach our tags. I checked in and got my pretty blue card and patiently waited for the bus. The bus is a Grey Hound type bus. The hardest part was watching the driver load a full bus of luggage. We pulled out into rain. It was a down pour the night before, so once again no complaints. Then we spotted the ships!!!! [/img] It was the Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Breeze, and Disney in the ports. I patiently watched the bus driver unload the bags, took my wine (750 mL) out of the luggage along with snacks, and I was on my way. [/img] Thank God for airport check-in. Within five minutes I was in the port, through security, and waiting. The special people were called first (Weddings, Special Assistance, Platinum, FTTF) and then Group 1, 2, and Airport. I was on board by like 12:30 pm. I sat in the Atrium for 5 mins to catch my breath (It was hot as hell outside. The temp was 84, but felt like 91). I was also very hungry. I forgot to go to the Red Frog Pub. I walked clear past it and went to Guys! I'm a struggling Diabetic (Type II), lol (you can laugh). I didn't want to pass out on the first day. So my NY attitude kicked in real fast because the elevator would not come so I walked up to the LIDO (Yup from the third floor to the tenth). This was the first and last time I had a burger. It was delicious, so delicious I forgot to take a pic. I had the fries several times. Edited November 30, 2015 by bizzybee902 Wrong pic
bizzybee902 Posted November 30, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted November 30, 2015 I sat down with some ladies from the FB group. We had really cool tees because of another lady. Shout out to our FB group!! Over two hundred ppl!! I didn't see everyone of course. But we did have a quick meeting at the Red Frog Pub before the sail away party with Matt. [/img] I ran to my room to change. It was 50 degrees when I left Baltimore, so I was layered in Under Armor sweating like a sinner in church. I went to my room and no bags. I switched into some workout clothes and as I'm leaving I fall over my luggage . I went back to the Pub, then to the sail away party. If you don't know by now. Matt Mitcham is the best cruise director ever!!! He has the best personality for the job. This man could work a room!!! Those dreamy eyes, that high top fade, that English accent!! Back to reality, he really is great!! He always had a large crowd. Matt was so good I didn't even realize we sailed off!!! Hell it was nighttime already!!! bizzybee902 Posted November 30, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted November 30, 2015 It was a really rocky night!!! I had the sea sickness patch thankfully. I don't know if it worked because it was my first time cruising. I was only dizzy the first two nights. So as far as American Table, it was okay. I don't care about table clothes. I liked having water on the table (to flush the booze, joking!) and the cranberry bread was extra awesome!!! So first night I met my table mates. Mr. B and Mrs. M have been cruising for years. They were so nice. Ms. S was also a frequent cruiser. We had a couple join us from Anytime dining for three nights because the line was too long. They were also very nice and funny!! The salmon was great. My waiter forgot my baked potato. It was a sign from the diabetes gods that I didn't need it. The creamed spinach was not my fav, but one lady at my table did enjoy it. The desert was wonderful. Fig and Date pudding!! After dinner I ran to my room, shot up some insulin (the sauce in the desert was pure sugar!), and ran to Matt's Welcome Aboard Show. bizzybee902 Posted November 30, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted November 30, 2015 Here are the fun times for the first day when you board. I will post this first next time. [/img] Apparently we had the new fun times. I downloaded the carnival hub app and didnt need to carry it. For $5 you can chat with anyone on the ship for the whole cruise long as you exchange ID numbers. It was easy and simple for me to just do that. I understand some people prefer to leave their phones in the safe, but I needed my phone for a camera. My camera was acting silly so I wanted to be safe than sorry. I went back to the room to find my new fun times and a cutie!!

bizzybee902 Posted November 30, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted November 30, 2015 So I clearly did not state out destination!! We went to Montego Bay, Jamaica (Originally Falmouth, but was changed); Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; and Cozumel, Mexico. I had late dining in the Blush dining room. I can't figure out how to re-edit a post so hear are some random pics of my room and us dancing at the sail away party. I was in an inside cabin room 2429. I loved it. I took many naps, lol. Deisy was my room attendant. She was in an out without me ever noticing. I forgot my Lactaid pills for dinner one day and within ten mins my room was cleaned, towel animal there, and bed turned down! Warning!! The toilet sounds like a jet plane!!! If I was with another person they wouldn't be able to flush at night because I am such a light sleeper. I was terrified at the fact that I had to stick my finger to push a button (I couldn't use my foot like I would in a NY public restroom) and then BOOM BOOM the jet takes off. I didn't mind the shower. It is hard to wash your ankles if your overweight, such is life. Not worse than a college dorm. The movie on the TV was "Failure to Launch". Sorry guys, no old man porn on the fun ship! Yes, those are girl scout cookies on the desk, I thought I would like some cookies. I didn't even open them until I went home. There was plenty to eat on the ship. I did eat the lollipops to cleanse my palate between meals, lol.

Beeslilmama Posted November 30, 2015 #11 Share Posted November 30, 2015 The interior room is nice! I haven't ever had one, only done oceanview and this next cruise will have my first balcony, but looking at the room, I don't think I would mind an interior if I could get on a ship cheap! I haven't ever had one, only done oceanview and this next cruise will have my first balcony, but looking at the room, I don't think I would mind an interior if I could get on a ship cheap! It was so comfy. I did feel a little crease in the bed, but between the booze and the rocking it was hardly noticeable, lol. Thanks for taking the time to do a report. I'll be on the Breeze in the Spring. Your going to have the time of your life. I think this is the most fun I have ever had in my entire life. bizzybee902 Posted November 30, 2015 Author #19 Share Posted November 30, 2015 Hey guys. Welcome to my fun day at sea. After I went to Matt's show the night before I was out like a light. The comforter is so cozy. I don't know about you, but I cant sleep without being warm and having a cold comforter. Its hard to create that perfect situation, but its usually all in the bedding. Check out the fun times. So I woke up at about 9am and went to brunch in the Blush dining room. I sat with Ms. M.C. and her son. They were really cool. They were all about the slots and the tables. Her son showed me his poker face and it was real! Shout out to the casino players who win free cruises. I envy you. I had the Huevos Rancheros, cheddar grits, and corned beef hash. So let me start with the bad. My mother and father are from the south. Shout out to South Carolina and Alabama. Now I will eat some scrapple in a heart beat, there is pork all over my fork, and yes I did eat the chitterlings on New Years. So when you bring me corned beef hash straight out the can; we have a problem. When I tried the grits the cheese wasn't even melted in it. The cheese was like a brick on top. This why the Southerners ain't tryna (yeah tryna) play with Carnival with some biscuits and gravy. Carnival ya'll are disrespectful!! You couldn't heat up the corned beef hash in the oven at 425 for 20-25 mins?? Was that too much to ask. This why my girl GAPearl wasn't playing with the "corn bread"; ya'll was really serving "corned bread" and you can not do that. It is a sin. Carnival, I love you, but as a struggling diabetic I do no play with my food. If I'm going to raise my blood sugar; I'm going to raise it the right way!!! Shout out to the cheese balls with the Huevos Rancheros. Those need to be a separate meal with some tomato soup to the side. Thank me later. Ms. M.C. ordered the Eggs Benedict and sent them back because it was too runny. The second order was perfect. Her son ordered the Huevos Rancheros and they were perfect. Carnival I'm still mad at the corned beef, but its okay.
bizzybee902 Posted December 1, 2015 Author #20 Share Posted December 1, 2015 I left Ms. M.C. and her son and went to Matt's Fun Ashore and Fun Aboard show. Did I tell ya'll Matt was hilarious! Matt went over all the tour excursions Carnival was offering and there was a pretty slide show on the different tours. He gave away several tours and I must say the funniest moment was when we met this hot Latina. Her husband won a free excursion and she had to run and retrieve him from el banos. I said el banos because Victoria's husband did not speak any English when he went to get his prize. English man versus Latin man, hilarious. So then the Latina won an excursion. She really was a hot Latina with a bikini on and white net swim pants. Soon as she walked away and Matt seen all that a$$ he was like "Well Victoria has no secret". I cried laughing. I even spotted her on the Lido deck and was like "Hey Victoria!". I went to lunch at Tandoor. I love Indian food. I had chicken, corn, and rice. The rice was the bomb (def worth the blood sugar rise). I snagged a table looking out on the water and enjoyed my food. I had a chance to catch a peek at the Red's Vs. Blue's Challenge. The volunteers had to make a drink and the judges tested it. It was hilarious. Shout out to Orlando. Orlando is on the entertainment staff. He works closely with Matt. You will see him again later. This girl's drink was too strong. Another girl won the challenge. At 2pm I went to our FB group Sea Day Slot Pull. It was fun. We won a couple of extra bucks. We chose the Wheel of Fortune machine. bizzybee902 Posted December 1, 2015 Author #21 Share Posted December 1, 2015 This is ice cream. Strawberry frozen yogurt. Do not touch this stuff. Its absofudginglutelylicous!! And there goes another shot of insulin. Do you notice the trend yet? At 4pm I headed to the Ovation Theatre to $3,000 BINGO. I purchased my cards and patiently waited. Yeah. I didn't win. Such is life. Shout out to Money Money Martin!! He lost his voice after the first BINGO. He was a cutie too. Peep him next to the number 24 on the BINGO screen. My friends had early dining so I headed to my room for a quick nap. When I awoke I realized it was elegant night!!! Funny thing is I only had two elegant outfits. I forgot my dress clothes. I was kinda upset because I have plenty of dress clothes and I didn't want to be that person. So on the first night I put on workout tights (Zella live-in Leggings @ Nordstrom) and a Nike dri-fit top with pair of black pumps. I was cute, snatched, and in all black. Please don't judge others for not dressing up. It could simply be a mistake. So for elegant night I was fiery red! Lovely. I was not feeling it tonight guys. Not at all. I was terribly dizzy. I told the waiter that I did not want an appetizer, but of course he brought me the fried oysters. They were good. I am very glad he did. Just so you know how much I wasn't feeling it..... I only had one order of lobster. Yeah I know. MEH! My table mates had three each. Yeah I know. You don't have to beat a dead horse. I really wasn't feeling it that night. I just couldn't eat (struggling diabetic remember, there are several themes here!!).
nybumpkin Posted December 1, 2015 #22 Share Posted December 1, 2015 I'm enjoying your review. We did the 8-day Southern itinerary on Breeze in July and loved it. We didn't have Matt on our cruise - he was on vacation - but will be sailing with him on Vista next summer, so I'm happy to read all the good reports on him. Orlando was on our cruise as ACD and we liked him a lot. As I understand, he's in line to become a CD. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and pictures! bizzybee902 Posted December 1, 2015 Author #23 Share Posted December 1, 2015 I would like to acknowledge the staff at Carnival. If my employer told me to put on some ruffles, get on the table and dance, sheesh the explicit's would be endless. We waved our dirty napkin's and I had the time of my life. I wasn't too out of it for desert. One creme brulee and several shots of insulin later (I know you see the theme, just trying to raise awareness for Diabetes and complete my review). I went to my room and changed because it was cold. Look what I found!! Up next: MOTOWN!!! Isn't he just the cutest. Shout out to Deisy!!! How she know I liked towel animals on my bed!!! bizzybee902 Posted December 1, 2015 Author #24 Share Posted December 1, 2015 MOTOWN! Yes the Motor City Show was the bomb. I ran to the Atrium, grabbed a Kiss on the Lips (now now), and sat as close as possible. Late dining will have you almost late to everything!!! I loved the show. Matt showed up at the end and dragged us in the Atrium. I was in a sole train line with one of the male lead singers. We did the electric slide for the 20th time so far. It was fun. Let me tell you about Matt. He get the party started. After you electric slide, wobble, and cupid shuffle he gone. Like seriously, he pass the mike over and move on to the next thing. The life of a cruise director. Next stop Jamaica MON!!
