I just got off the Legend and Mark who plays in the Piano Bar was the best. He made the whole trip. He is a great piano player and interact with the guests. IF you will be on the Legend within the next 6 weeks make sure you go to Billie's and say hi to Mark

ok, this is Mark. Unfortunately, I'm only onboard until 11/1...

For the person who was here 9/16, you saw my predecessor, Darren...

Thanks all for the good MOJO!!!!

So Mark... any chance you are switching ships (as in to the MIRACLE?) or are you taking a break?

I hope we "luck out" with some talent for our Thanksgiving cruise... unfortunately we are usually not "lucky" that way..LOL

In all our cruises, we have never lucked out with a terrific Piano Bar player...

We did have the terrific Ed Rocks on the Triumph last year, but we never made it because of the kid's schedule!

Sorry we are going to miss you too Mark!

Send someone good to the Legend, will you??

ok yall, just got home from the Legend. I've heard my replacement is a first-timer, so I dont have any info on him other than he's Canadian (but I'm still hopeful...lol)

as for Darren, I think he's taking some time off.

As for my next post, I am waiting to chat with the bigwigs at the home office to find out where that'll be. For certain I want to ride the Legend again next summer.

Thank you all, during these fun 6 weeks, for all the good karma, the applause, the great song requests (even when you thought you could stump me...hehehe), and for the conversation and company. It was truly an experience I will never forget. Whether playing showtunes, pop, rock, r&b, country, punk, 80s, or even heavy metal, I enjoyed each and every song (well, except for maybe PIANO MAN, and MARGARITAVILLE...lol)

And I pledge to continue my battle to keep the Carnival piano bars from sucking! So keep an eye out for me, and my little Donald Trump doll (hey, every piano bar needs a mascot!) because we're comin to a Carnival ship near YOU!!!!

Yo Mark, not to bring back bad memories or anything but truthfully shouldn't you add "Friends in Low Places" to the songs you aren't crazy about playing. I love that song but on the night of the Garth Brooks try outs I too was getting a little tired of it. Unfortunately we never made the show on Monday night but did enjoy all of the preliminary try outs. I guess we were too pooped to party anymore on Monday night and after a great dinner at the Fleece we just called it a night. Good luck in your future ventures and hope to see you on another Carnival cruise someday.

Hi Mike, I think it's great that you post on this board too. I wish that our favorite entertainers would post and let us know what ship they are going on so we could sail with them. Don't you think that would be a good idea?

I was just on the Triumph and we had a great lounge band. I'm sure you heard of them "Music Boardwalk". They were great. I would book a cruise with them again. They made my vacation. As for the piano bar entertainer is name was Eric and he was dull. I believe he came from Canada. No personality at all. I almost felt sorry for him because everybody was going into the other room to hear this group.

I'm thinking of taking a cruise on the Carnival Legend and I hope you're on it. From what I read on this thread; you're very popular too. I would have a hard time going between the piano bar lounge and lounge band.

I only just started cruising with Carnival. I went to New England/Canada and loved it. Hope to see you sometime. Keep posting.

Just one question, would Carnival tell you who is going to be on the ship if you call home office and ask the Entertaiment Dept? Can they give that information out? Just wondering

Mark - CCL just called my direct line - they said your phone was out of order... at any rate, they asked me to tell you that you are needed on the Miracle, beginning with the 11/20 sailing....:D

SEE YOU THERE

I think I've got your name down pat now (lol). I am truly sorry about that.

Just think now I have another name to add to my watch list for my cruises on "Carnival". Besides a Lounge Band, it sounds like I've just found a good piano bar entertainer, even though I've never heard you. From this board it sounds like you have quite a following so you must be good. What's the Donald Trump doll about? Are you a big fan of his?

Also, I noticed that your from NYC. Me too. I work in the City and live in Queens. May I ask where abouts in NYC?

Please let us know where your going to be next.... I haven't done the Legend yet but that's on my list too. It's soo easy to do being from NYC.

Well, have a great weekend. Mary Ann

I work downtown. Do you live in the Village?

Wow what a neat gift. I read that they did a cruise on the Legend. Did you happen to meet "The Donald"? What was that cruise like? I agree, what a great place to keep "The Donald".

Have been on other "Carnival Ships"?

Do you have a web-site by chance?

This board is very addictive.

Have a nice day, Mary Ann

Just returned from the 11/9 sailing of Carnival Legend. Although DH and I are self-proclaimed piano bar addicts, we spent only about two hours in the piano bar for this 8-day cruise and I was disappointed at the lack of energy in the bar.

I think the piano guy's name was David, but am not sure. The piano bar, Billie's, was at least 1/2 empty every night, which is something I've never seen on a cruise. There were always seats at the main area around the piano. I found myself pining for Joe and Jamie, who were wonderful on previous cruises.
