Grandmaanne7 Posted December 12, 2015 #77 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Thanks for keeping us all up to date on the goings on. Glad things are as back to normal as they can be. Really glad all is well with Raylene. Have a fabulous cruise everyone! ☺ Sent from my SM-G386W using Tapatalk
FlorenceItaly Posted December 12, 2015 #78 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Payne was the first name of the sweet and helpful security guard at Port of Miami - posting so I can remember to commend her to the Port. We're on board now and yes, champagne was served as always! We were on our way to Customer Service right after boarding to ask about the location of Raylene's relief box, and an officer stopped us to say "I read on Cruise Critic that your dog was stepped on, is she OK? We are so sorry that happened!" Wow, very nice. We assured him her tail still wags. He advised us to head for our room to get an orientation for the dog box, which we did. The Sky Suite is beautiful and the butler Keegan was at the door instantly, and escorted us to the box location (a good, covered area with shelter against potential rain. Much better than in the past.) He provided lots of information, quickly made a reservation for our free specialty dinner, and came back to confirm. While we were on the balcony, our room steward Michael arrived with a warm welcome and noted a few little requests. We're off to a wonderful start, and I mean that sincerely. Hope there won't be too many grumbles for something Celebrity could not control. We don't know yet how late our departure will be, muster drill hasn't happened yet. Think of the mess that little "prank" cost. Luggage coming aboard now. I am so sorry the poor folks had their party cancelled, too. I worked in event planning and feel for the organizers. Fabulous update!! Bon Voyage!

Bo1953 Posted December 13, 2015 #86 Share Posted December 13, 2015 Someone upset about not getting into Michael's due to overcrowding. ;) ... or it could be someone upset that Luminae was not open as promised on port days??? :D
Adidas4fun Posted December 13, 2015 #87 Share Posted December 13, 2015 ... or it could be someone upset that Luminae was not open as promised on port days??? :D no no, its all been blown out of all proportion (no pun) and grossly misunderstood. He was trying to say "dis ship is da bomb!" as in "I had a great time despite what everyone on cruise critic said".
hvsteve1 Posted December 13, 2015 #88 Share Posted December 13, 2015 If it makes anyone feel better, pax on the Norwegian Sky had a much worse experience in the same port last week. A person who went through security in the terminal slipped on the ship without going through proper steps. Swat teams responded, the ship was emptied and 2,000 plus people were in the terminal for upwards of seven hours. Passengers who had not yet entered the terminal were kept outside the building for the same time. Passengers were eventually let on board and given a $50 OBC. USNUZULOOSE Posted December 13, 2015 #89 Share Posted December 13, 2015 The fundraiser or event has something to do with Miami nonprofit groups, from what attendees said a couple of hours ago. All with Visitor badges. My husband and I were first taken on arrival to the coordinator who checked us in and suggested we have a seat with my service dog in a small lounge. It got fuller and fuller, louder, with the party folks, and a rather big man stepped on my dog's tail. Never heard that scream come from - Lab before so I know it hurt. So we moved out of the lounge (which was small so could not hold all those here for their event) and are in a doorway niche hidden away behind a batch of the party goers. So we may never get on board.:) I hope your doggie is okay.

Dizney Posted December 13, 2015 #91 Share Posted December 13, 2015 So, was the hoax bomb threat idiot a crew member or passenger? I was wondering the same thing. Conflicting info. Should be sorted out now. Update from any on board please. Enjoy your cruise! Cheers!
woodley Posted December 13, 2015 #92 Share Posted December 13, 2015 I think I would have been really nervous boarding that ship even though it had been cleared for boarding. Whether it was a crew member or a passenger they should have known better and I hope they are never allowed to travel by ship or airplane again. They should be made to pay for all the resources/man hours that they caused to be used by their stupid joke. Terror threats are never a joke and should always be taken seriously. I hope they are ashamed of their actions.

Caribbean Chris Posted December 13, 2015 #95 Share Posted December 13, 2015 Hearing Dog Raylene is fine except for waking us up at 4:30 a.m. to go out. Luminae is wonderful, staff could not be nicer. Same for Michaels Club. Packed house for Cruise Critic party in Lawn Club Grill, all officers including Captain attended. I think Reflection is a "happy" ship. Thanks for all the good wishes. I was following that thread at the time, as Travlgrl (Tara) was posting live. I've been on a r/c with her, and she's a saavy traveler and accurate reporter. The situation sounded terrible. Folks actually ended up being trapped in different parts of the terminal (some parties got separated) for upwards of NINE hours. They had no food -- except a couple of trays of snacks / water that were fought over. It was cold in the terminal, and most folks were dressed for the Caribbean. We've experienced a few boarding delays, in all the years we've been cruising RC and X -- but nothing like what's been described lately, on these boards. But, as long as our fellow passengers insist on misbehaving at the port, my guess is that we can expect more of the same. :(
Hobbsey Posted December 13, 2015 #99 Share Posted December 13, 2015 I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for an apology. I thought it was kinda stupid to blame a PAX boarding issue on the CEO and entourage. If the CEO were boarding she would have been pre-cleared and have boarded from the pier, not through the guest terminal.

If I had to wait hours I would have done that. And if they can't deliver food into terminal, I would have just went outside.
