Sunkissed Mommy Posted December 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2015 (edited) Help us decide which cruise! It is my mom, my son (3 years old), and me for our annual "Mother's Day" trip. Both options are on Empress of the Seas in a JS. May 5th- 4-nights (Key West & Coco Cay) or May 14th- 5-nights (Grand Cayman & Key West) Price difference is negligible ($73 total for the three of us). We've been to all of the ports before, so there is no pull from those. Son will miss 2 days of preschool no matter which trip we take. The 4-night will have us miss Mother's Day which is typically spent with my husband's family. Not a big deal to me but I don't know if they will think we are rude. OfTheSeasCruiser Posted December 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2015 (edited) Longer cruise ALWAYS wins. And I'd take Grand Cayman over CocoCay, because of the large chance of missing CocoCay. ksuds Posted December 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2015 I'd go with the longer one. But Grand Caymen does also have a risk of missing the port since it is a tender port.
PCWalton1 Posted December 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2015 For me longer is always better, even if it is an at sea day. :)
Sunkissed Mommy Posted December 22, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted December 22, 2015 I will admit that I have a love/hate relationship with Grand Cayman. I've been there 4 times and each time was a disaster. I'm almost afraid to go back. BUT i'd love the extra 2 points for C&A!

Sunkissed Mommy Posted December 22, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted December 22, 2015 Yes, most likely. I tend to do very lengthy reviews. I know a lot of people will be interested since the ship is returning to the fleet!

knittinggirl Posted December 22, 2015 #12 Share Posted December 22, 2015 One tender port and one docking port each. I'd go with the 5-day cruise!

I know a lot of people will be interested since the ship is returning to the fleet! I would never cancel a cruise based on reviews, but final payment date for sailings up to June 2 is prior to the first sailing. So most of us are booking on faith only (or curiosity). I think we will all be anxious for the first reviews.

I was a bit hesitant to book when I found it yesterday, but as long as the ship doesn't sink I will be okay! I like to try new things even if they aren't new ;) Edited December 22, 2015 by Sunkissed Mommy
