NCL Casino Program Questions

That's a pretty broad question. Is there something specific you'd like to know?

Here's a link to the NCL CAS page:

https://www.ncl.com/why-cruise-norwegian/casino-cruise

As you can see, it's a tiered system, and you graduate from level to level based on the points you acquire while playing in the casino. There are perks that come with each level of the system.

If you are a Ceasar's or Harrah's member, you can make your reservation thought the NCL CAS office. in that case, you will automatically be enrolled in the CAS program and will have a player card waiting for you when you board the ship. Otherwise, go to the casino manager's desk and sign up for a card once the casino opens.

Use your card in all the slot machines and at the tables. Slot play is tracked automatically by computer, table play is tracked by the pit boss, as is usual.

We have found NCL's CAS system to be one of the best cruising casino programs around. Depending on your level of play, you'll often be rewarded by the casino staff above and beyond the perks described on the web page. Also, at the end of the cruise, if you are over a certain number of points, you can ask to have the points applied against your final bill, or leave them in your account to be forwarded for your next cruise. NCL's CAS year runs March to March, if I recall.

Hope that all helps some.

I am wondering about the casino program on NCL. We are VIP on Royal Caribbean, but have only been on NCL once, but we are booking another one later today. Thanks as usual for answers.

Rhonda

Hi, im a little confused about the points. I took my first NCL cruise last year on Breakaway, and when i played in the casino, i just used my sail & sign card and the points went on that. I didn't get up to 1500 points to get the free drink card, because I'm not a big gambler. So my question is, do you not need a CAS card to get the points? Whats the difference between using your sail & sign card and signing up for CAS?

Thanks,

Christina

I will no doubt become golden on my Jan 30 cruise (only need 1000 points or so). That will make me golden for April 1,2016 till March 31, 2017.

My Question is - will I get the Golden perks mid cruise if I hit the level say mid week? Also, what does the spa credit consist of. I am on the Escape.

Going directly through CAS helps you get things like Discounted cruises, Free cabins etc IF YOU QUALIFY FOR THEM.....Also if your a Ceasers casino player on land IE: Harrahs casino etc you can go through CAS as well......The higher tier you are with Harrahs Gold, Platinum or Diamond, the higher your discount is off the cruise

Another perk of going directly through CAS if you Qualify is that you get the Free Drinks on Us card right away when u get on the ship instead of having to get 1,500 points

Yes the day you hit the acquired number of points even if it's mid cruise you'll get the Golden Card....not sure about the spa deal

There one tip that I can give you in regards to future comps involving table play. Lets say that you have a good ave at BJ(say $250 per hand), if you go and play say 3 card poker or LIR or anything else for fun and do not plan on betting much, DO NOT give them your card. Your ave will go down, which may reduce your comp room for a future cruise. You may miss out on a few hundred points for the session by not turning in your card, but your table comps do not go by point totals only like machine play does. A higher ave bet goes a lot further than having say 2000 more points at cruise end. Good Luck

I reached Golden on my December Jewel cruise. Yes, they gave me the card right away and I believe it was a bonus $100 on my card that I used for free play. However, spa credit is not available until your next cruise.

Same here when I hit Golden on the Jewel. The new card and the bonus credits, but no spa.

They r tighter than land casinos for sure.....But I've watched people hitting jackpots and we've done quite well a few times

Our favorite is $1 Video Poker......Regular slots we've hit on Quick Hits nicely, Howling Wolves n Wheel of Fortune a few times

New one I've yet to try but have read lots of people Love is the Chinese Babies slots....you can watch video on YouTube of people playing them and hitting some jackpots......Max pull is $8.88 though but you can play any amount

My next cruise I'm going to plunk in $100-$200 and try Max pulls and see what happens 🙈😜😜💰💰🍀🍀

can i ask what extras do you get from the casino hosts? i've never had one come over to me, or maybe once, in all the hours i've played. i've played a lot and lost quite a bit, not many wins, and do get inside comps and still only 20% if not comped..same as 1st time i played.

We've had the hosts comp us dinner at the steak house with a bottle of wine, send up chocolate strawberries and treats to the room etc

Also don't be shy about asking them say by midweek or towards the end of te week after you've been gambling n built up points......Sometimes they r busy and can't get around to everyone so going up and asking Hi could you check my points/hours to see if we possibly qualified for a comped dinner.....

Also we always introduce ourselves the beginning of the cruise to the casino host n manager and talk with them throughout the week....Always good to build a repoire

Should we play on one card like we do in land casinos? First time cruiser here.:)

Depending on your $ situation, there would be advantages to playing on a single card. If you have enough $ to put the action on 2, then separate, if you are looking to maximize, play together until you get where you want.

Not knowing how much you play, would probably be best to be on one card. If you reach 5000 points or more in the same year, you reach a higher tier and start getting comps for food & drink, spa credit and more. Also, if you play enough you could get a comped cruise. So playing on one card is generally better. Their players club year is from April 1st to March 31st.

If CAS comps you a cruise, are you still responsible for the taxes and port fees or would those charges be covered?

If you receive a full comp, you are still responsible for:

1.) Administrative Fee - which in reality is the Non-Commissionable fare and can range from around $250 and up.

2.) Gov't Fees and Taxes - which are assessed by the ports the ship is docking at.

3.) Promo Service fees (if applicable) for beverage or dining packages if received as promos on your booking.

4.) Upgrade costs if you elect to upgrade to a higher category cabin than what you are comped.

Hope that helps!

You pay an Admin Fee of 200 per person and Taxes/Port fees. Years ago the admin fee was 160, then 180, then 190....and recently increased to 200.

Hi....we are travelling on the Escape, through the Casino at Sea .. we were awarded the interior room/upgraded to the balcony this time. Last year, we went Epic..and just took the interior room. We were responsible for port fees and taxes..I think it worked out to be about $300. per person we paid...it was fabulous...This year with the upgrade to the balcony and the port fees, it was about $650 It hink per person we paid for the upgrade and the port fees...we also get a players card and a drink card in our room when we get there..so we do not have to pay for drinks in the casino. This year, we have the drink package as we have the balcony...its a pretty good deal :) Have fun!!

You are responsible for taxes and fees. You may also pay $200 per person Non-Commissionable Fare for a 7 day cruise. (It was $25 per night per person NCF.) We were comped our Dec 2016 cruise. We booked the cruise on the ship and then called the CAS department to tie this cruise to the CAS. The cruise was $2900 balcony room. They comped us a Oceanview, so we downgraded. At the end with the comp, we paid $1250 with all grats and taxes. We were also able to keep the 2 promos. Booze and dining packages. The booze and dining package value was around $1100. With the $125 savings on the CruiseNext deposit certificate, they are almost paying us to take this cruise.
