Carriecruises Posted January 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2016 Pardon my ignorance. Where can we go in or around the French quarter that has a shrimp or crawfish boil?
jgmpuma Posted January 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2016 There are not many places in or around the French Quarter that do good boiled seafood at a reasonable price. Try the French Market Restaurant at the corner of Decatur and St. Peter. They boil whatever is in season. Shrimp are always available. Crawfish season starts in early Spring and peaks around Easter. nolatravelgirl Posted January 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2016 Agree that you aren't going to find good boiled seafood in the FQ. The crawfish this time of year are SMALL so if you aren't used to peeling them you are in for an exercise in frustration. I would look for places that serve fresh caught seafood that is well prepared. There are plenty of ways to serve great seafood other than boiled. tallyho8 Posted January 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2016 You can get good boiled seafood at Acme, Deanie's or even Drago's. For cheaper but great boiled seafood head across the river to Perino's Boiling Pot.
