So I lost my cruise to a Polka group [second change - I had originally been on a Koningsdam segment that started on the 29th (B2B with another dam ship I don't even remember any more) and ran to the 12th of Feb]. I changed to the Eurodam for that time period with an OBC offer and then lost it to the Polka group.

 

At least it wasn't a political group - I do like polka. I'm now on the NA w/B2B Koningsdam with a substantial OBC for the NA 21day cruise.

Is this Polka "group actually chartering the Eurodam? On the website it shows they will have their own musicians and entertainment, but I see the Eurodam still listed on the HAL website.

The Polka "Cruise to Paradise" is a group onboard, not a charter. I think (not sure of the exact number) last years group was around 400- 500 Polka enthusiasts. HAL still uses their own entertainers for shows, etc.

I think I had three weeks together [ending Feb 11] to match up with the K'dam's Feb 12th itinerary, then the Feb 4th segment got cancelled and I had to once again rearrange my schedule and ended up with the NAdam. This polka group was not a factor until I had already abandoned this B2B2B itinerary.

 

Isn't it fun rearranging your schedule - twice. :( Oh well, the OBC is nice. Can't complain there.

Westerdam - when it arrives in Italy in April 2017 there is a unscheduled two week period. We [on other threads] have speculated that is their probable DRYDOCK time.

 

But nothing official yet that I've seen on her or any of the other ships.

Thank you for the reply. Odd that they don't have actual dates for dry docks, since there's so many plans for new things on the ships...

Dry-dock information is the hardest info to get/verify - so I list the info Copper 10 supplies...... I find with going through all the themed cruises, charters, it is quite the chore already.....

 

Hopefully Copper 10 will have more to report on dry-docks!

Thank you so very much for your dedication in keeping this link up-to-date! A thought or a wish --- With all of the significant HAL changes during Dry Docks these days, it would be great to see a thread or a category that lists Dry Dock dates (past and future) and describes the renovation (i.e.: decor facelift vs major rebuild with new public spaces, floor additions, etc). Right now, I never know which ship has or has not become a "new ship" without review all the floorpans! Meanwhile - keep sharing - it is great!

It's interesting: Carnival maintains that kind of information on all their ships and makes it available on the internet (their "fact sheets") so yes I agree with you in that the other Carnival Corp. brands should do the same and facilitate the kind of thread/category you suggest. It's not as if it's trade secret information (the past refurbs at least and any future upgrades that have been publicly announced) so why not make it readily available to their customers?
