We are looking at Little French Key.

Do you mean "outside" as a non-ship excursion?

Or do you mean "outside" as in you booked it in port once you were off the ship?

:D

Sorry. Yes non-ship excursion. Made reservation online months ahead of time. Paid cash upon arrival and avoided the 15% Roatan tax.

Thanks. We are still deciding between Little French and Maya Key. :) If we decide on MK, we will probably book onboard to use up some OBC.

We did Little French Key too. It was a great time. A little tip....get off of the boat early. We were some of the first people to get there, and because of that we got our pick of locations and it was fairly empty in the morning. By lunch time it really started filling up and we left shortly after. The monkeys were a blast, nice beach, good food, just a solid day.

Note that I believe I was incorrect before and the right street to approach the cruise terminal is 22nd St.

I already wrote about the first day, so I'll try to continue. I'm pretty tired tonight, but I'll do as much as I can, and then finish tomorrow.

First, I agree with many of the comments that another poster wrote with regards to the crowds. There were about 4000 people on board, and it was so crowded. Especially all those silly sales on the Promenade that made passing through nearly impossible.

First night, we ate in the MDR, late seating at 8:00pm. Our server was Olicia and the assistant was Tatiyana. This was her very first contract, so she was a little rough around the edges at the beginning. One thing different from past cruises, (and not in a good way), is there is no longer a dedicated bar server. The assistant waiter has to pull double duty and be the bar person, as well as help the main server. It took a while to get our drinks due to this.

We had 2 days at sea to begin the cruise. Each morning I got up about 7:00 and ran/walked the track on Deck 12. They say it is 3 laps=1k, 4.5 laps=1mile. After that, I would eat breakfast in the Windjammer. Unfortunately, I love the bacon and tater tots, so I ate way too many of each almost every day. They had someone making omelets, with both regular eggs or egg whites. If you are watching how you eat, you can request no oil, but they will spray with non-stick spray. It wasn't offered, you have to ask.

I sat in the Solarium during the day and read on my Kindle. It was so relaxing. This is an area for adults only. I can't even remember what else I did on these days. I never even made it to the putt-putt area, nor the water slides/flow rider/rock climbing areas. So, I'm unable to answer any questions concerning those things.

We only went to one show in the evening-that was the Adult comedy show. He was good, but not great. Didn't think it was as "adult" as I thought it would be. It was a very short show, maybe 30-40 minutes.

My husband and I like to gamble, so we were in the casino every night. Therefore, we didn't make it to any other shows or bars/night clubs, etc.

Our cabin was very nice and spacious. We had a balcony cabin, midship on deck 7. I have a couple of ideas that we always do on cruises. First, I bring one of those pop-up laundry baskets. It is completely flat in our suitcase, but pops up when you twist it. It holds a full week of dirty clothes. I just put it in the corner of our cabin. Second, I bring one of those hanging shoe bags that velcros around the hanging rod in the closet. It keeps all our shoes easily accessible and off the floor, creating more room. There were plenty of drawers and shelves. There was a nightstand on both sides of the bed, with an open shelf and a drawer. There is a bank of 4 drawers on either side of the desk and shelves behind each side of the mirror over the desk. In the closet there is a safe and 4 wire shelves. In the bathroom, there is a shelf below the sink and behind one corner of the mirror, there are 4 shelves. In the shower, which by the way is very small, there are 2 wire shelves for soap, etc. There is also a shampoo dispenser. I brought my own, though. It's tough to shave your legs, ladies. The doors are shower are the circular sliding type.

On to some discussion about the specialty restaurants. We made reservations online ahead of time and tried to book for 7:00 or 7:30. It appeared as if the restaurants were going to be very busy, as we could either get 6:30 (too early) or 8:30 (too late). But I went ahead and booked at 8:30, in hopes of changing once we got on board. As soon as we got there, I tried to change Chops, but was told no available times. We changed Giovanni to 7:30. That night, while in the Diamond lounge, I asked the Concierge if he could help us. Immediately, he was able to change for us, so that meant it wasn't as full as we were told. I appreciated him doing that for us. We went to Chops on Tuesday night and it was delicious. We loved our waiter (can't remember his name), but it was only about half full, so I have no idea why we had a hard time changing the time ourselves. I'm not a meat eater, so I ordered the branzino (fish) and it was very good. Everyone else had steak and said it was very good. Wednesday night, we went to Sabor, a new restaurant that serves interior Mexican. Being from Texas, I'm used to Tex-Mex, and this was not. But it was also delicious. They make guacamole table-side, so you can have it made exactly to your liking (spicy or not, onions or not, etc). My only complaint about this place is the speed in which they served us. It was a small restaurant, seats 64, I think our waiter said. And it was packed. Lastly, we went to Giovanni's on Thursday night. The starters were good. They brought out marinated veggies and whole roasted garlic bulbs, which were both delicious. However, that's where it ended. I ordered the garlic shrimp, which were so overcooked. They made another entrée, but it was only a little better. It came with 2 small pieces of broccolini. Giovanni's was maybe a 1/3 full.

They post the menus on interactive boards around the ship, but almost daily they were incorrect. I'd be looking forward to something that was posted, but once we got in to the MDR, several times it was not on the printed menu. And speaking of the MDR, we were pretty disappointed. We all felt the quality had really gone down.

I will continue tomorrow, with comments on the ports of call. Please pardon any misspellings, as I'm pretty tired.

I read on another thread that Liberty (and some other ships) has a new menu in Giovanni's. Would love to see it, if you get a chance.

Have a wonderful cruise! We will be on her in September......counting the days!

I did take pictures of the menu. Once I figure out how to upload pictures to this site, I'll do it.

Hope you're having a fantastic time and your weather is ideal. Wondering if they kept the juice/smoothie bar named "Squeezed" up on the pool deck during the dry dock. Used to be port side on other Freedom class ships.

Waiting for some of your photos around the ship, too! Thanks so much for taking your time to do this for the CC family.:)

Squeezed is still there. I don't drink juices or smoothies made with from a box, so can't tell you how it is.

Best to upload the photos to some other photo sharing site, such as Flickr, and then insert the links here. Photos directly uploaded to this site are limited in size and can hardly be read.

I will do that. I uploaded the menu from Giovanni, but it is huge.

Thank you so much for answering back. This may make it worth my while to get one of the non-alcoholic drink packages.
