Star Class Questions -- looking for answers from those who have sailed

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all the replies so far. Another question I thought of...if you are eating in one specialty restaurant, can you get food sent to you from a different specialty restaurant? Just thinking of my two kids who probably won't care for 150 CP but hubby and I would want to dine there.

I didn't try that on my last trip. The only thing we did was get specialty restaurants delivered.

Maybe Andrew can shed some light?

I thought about it a bit more. Here is a suggestion. You could try asking at the restaurant a day or two before you go. Also, try asking your Genie as you may get get a better response that works for you. I wouldn’t wait until you get there on the night of your dinner, as it doesn’t give them a chance to figure it out or think of a substitute option. Not sure if it will work, but an option.

We sailed in SC a couple of months ago on Allure and my daughter had a dish she wanted to try from 150 CP while dining in Chops. They accommodated her without hesitation. She is pretty good at getting things she wants ...

Oh I definitely wouldn't wait till I'm there. That's what I was planning to do, ask the genie ahead of time when we go over the schedules. We'll see what happens. My kids can always head to WJ if they are still hungry lol.

That sounds promising! If my kids had it their way, one would dine exclusively at Jamie's and the other one at Johnny Rockets lol.

Enjoy the Jamies/JR desires while you can. My girls are in there 20's now and I long for the day when a JR burger with ketchup worked. This cruise was Sushi/Champagne delivered at 5pm every day to the room so they could enjoy in the Jacuzzi while pre-gaming.

If I recall when my daughter got the 105 CP meal at Chops, I think she stopped at 105 CP first and charmed the MD so the Chops guy got on board pretty easily. We had also dined at Chops night one and I think our waiter was probably happy at the end of the night.

We’ve done this with our kids at 150CP. They don’t like the appetizers there so we asked if they could have the Caesar salad from Chops...it’s wasn’t a problem. I did stop by during the day to ask do that it wouldn’t be a surprise on the evening. We plan on doing the same thing next week on Oasis.

The kids also like the key lime pie they serve in the MDR on the last night and we usually request (ahead of time) a couple of slices.

You will likely get some type of special access. Either private time or you do t wait in the normal line. Pay no attention to the other comment on this. The spirit of cruising is to meet other cruisers and enjoy time together but I doubt that other guy will pass up his escort on and off the ship so that he can wait in line with those that aren’t in suites. Take advantage of your perks. You paid for them. I will be in two months and did star class a year ago. It is awesome and enjoy.

Here here. Pay no attention. We have done SC twice and are booked again in December and I can tell you the guys that work the flow rider actually were telling my son to stand in the short line. He had a few other buddies as well that were SC. We even had our Genie get us to the front of the line for skating. I did not feel bad at all since it is encouraged.

This is a great thread and I have learned so much from reading it. My wife and I enjoy Royal Caribbean but have not cruised any of the mega ships yet.

It would be nice if the RC website had all of this same information available.

Thanks for sharing.

I've done this a couple of times. When we were eating at 150 I asked for a bowl of cream of mushroom soup from Chops and they got it without hesitation. I did the same thing when we were in Coastal Kitchen. I love my cream of mushroom soup !!

Actually, this isn't really a "star class" thing. I have done this in the MDR at times when I wasn't SC. Now, if I had asked for a full entrée I suspect the result would have been different but it seems as though asking for something simple, like a bowl of soup, wasn't a problem. I imagine if you tried to get too complicated, like asking for multiple items from different restaurants they would say "no". I have always made my requests very simple but I've never had them say "no".
