1ANGELCAT Posted August 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2016 Yes. I did one on the Premier sailing. It was split over 2 days, since you are unable to visit the bridge when sailing. The cost was $150.00 Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
xLibLabLady Posted August 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2016 Besides the kitchen tour, is there a more extensive tour of the ship? Cost? Hi Brian and CJ, There certainly is a more extensive tour of the ship. Jerry and I were on the Koningsdam in June for the two week Baltic cruise, then on a one week Norwegian fjord cruise in July. You will want to sign up as soon as it is announced. They try to limit the group to 15 people. Altogether, the tour is about 7 hours in length, spread over two days. This was our experience at least, and the experience of two of our new CC friends. Cost is $150.00 USD per person. It is soooooooo worth it, in our opinion. You see so much more than the kitchen. You see behind the scenes of the World Stage, and talk to a couple of the performers, the marshaling areas where everything comes on an off the ship, the recycling center, the laundry, the engine room, the beverage storage, of course the bridge, and much, much more. In each area, the person responsible for that area explains what they do, give you a lot of information, and answers questions. At the end of Part 1 while sitting in the Ocean Bar, and being served all kinds of yummy treats and beverages, there were more explanations from the Hotel Director. Furthermore, each person got a "goody bag" as well, and I don't mean trinkets. Caution: this tour is not suitable for mobility-challenged people. There are stairs, some of them very steep, to negotiate. If you or others want more detail, with pictures, send me an email with Koningsdam in the subject line: smcclung at frontier dot com.
