Hi Folks,

 

Looking for some guidance from anyone who makes frequent bookings through CAS. We have used CAS and the comps they gave us a few times. However we have only done it for one sailing at a time. I recall hearing some people mention that CAS will actually allow you to make more than one booking based on whatever you have earned with them. You don't nee to wait until you have sailed again to see what types of comps you might have earned.

 

Anyone know if that is true? Can you actually make multiple bookings (based on what comps you have earned) before sailing again?

s of this post I have three bookings via CAS. Not sure if there is a maximum but I have those three.

Great Thanks Tracy...Did you make all three at one time or were they done separately over some period of time?

I currently have six - but for the most part those are 1:1 for trips I've taken (I've sailed 4 times this year so far & have booked a trip each time I've come back.)

 

I have at certain times booked more than one trip upon returning - but those are times my play was relatively high for me (around $15K+ on a 7-day.) Those comps were suite/Haven comps.

I currently have four pending cruises booked. Two are from CET certificates and two directly from CAS. You never know until you ask. A few days after you return from a cruise, call CAS and ask if you are eligible for another cruise. They will say it depends on what ship and when so be prepared to give them a couple of choices to check on. When we have had a 'winning' cruise, they have offered me an inside cabin. On others they have offered me an Ocean-view. You don't have to book what they offer, just check with them and think it over.

I have had 9 booked at the same time...ranging from weekenders to 14 nights but that was before DelRio came onboard. I don't know if they would still allow it. I have 4 booked now directly through CAS, I do not even bother picking up the CET cruises as they are insides and limited on dates. I heard the ones picked up this weekend were crap. Some examples are the offer was for Breakaway Florida/Bahamas valid dates 2/17/17-8/27/17 but from 4/23/17-9/17/17 it does the Bermuda run and they will not allow any change of itinerary. Same issue with New Orleans, dates of the certificate did not match up to the itinerary.

My CET certificates are usually balcony, but they have shortened the booking period to within 6 months. I'm making a switch to direct with CAS for those Inside or OceanView offers. Cheap to upgrade if I want to. I'm also planning to take some of my Vegas playing money and switch it to CAS. Maybe they'll get me up to a balcony:cool:

(Having said that....heading to LV this morning. Just going less often there and more on cruises!)

We booked a Bermuda cruise on the BA (CAS)- a year out as we were going with family.

 

We then booked the Spirit in the fall for the Caribbean in Jan/Feb.

 

We usually call when we want to go, not always waiting for an offer. :D

Thanks! That was what I wanted to know. Lastly, did you just call the CAS number and ask if they had an offer for X month or what?

My longest one out is December 2017.

 

I call CAS and give them the dates I want to cruise and ask what kind of deal they can give me.

We always have a date and/or itinerary in mind when we call. Some offers if they involve airfare don't always work for us. Since we winter in FL we have more options than NY [emoji41][emoji267]

For the replies everyone. I now need to start calling CAS more often and make more bookings! Already booked for a November cruise but will try adding one in January possibly and definitely one in March. Wish me luck! :D (And in the casino as well :) )

I was offered a Mini-Suite on the Escape for the Dec 3 sailing from Miami. I asked them how much it would be to upgrade to a Haven for my husband and I and he said 4300-H7. I just couldn't understand why it was so much. Especially since I just did the same thing on the Breakaway in July to Bermuda from an OceanView and it was 3700 with admin fees, insurance and everything. I wonder why so much for a upgrade from a higher category to the same category Haven(H7) that cost 500 pp less. I'm probably going to stay with the Mini-Suite.

As you can see from my signature line I have quite a few cruises booked – all through CAS and not one of them from a certificate or flyer etc. The farthest cruise I have booked is for September 2017 and I booked that I would say about three months ago maybe?

Have 2 now have had up to 3, booked different months but based on same sailing. Usually get offered mini-suites going on my 1st comped suite in Nov and first air package comp. if you don't already belong there is a Facebook page you can join for CAS members everyone shares offers and info. Very helpful to learn how to work their system.

Anyone willing to explain what CAS is and how it works differently from a direct or TA booking?

 

Hi Bill,

 

CAS is short for Casinos at Sea. It is an NCL program that keeps track of your play in the ships casinos. You can only book through them and expect any possible discounts/comps if you have played previously on one of their ships. And it will need to be a fair amount. If you just throw one $20.00 bill into a slot for example..don't expect anything :-)
