abbyar Posted September 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2016 I don't want to make a huge mess but love long baths - is it approved to bring bath bombs or does that mess up the water treatment system onboard? Or does NCL provide bubbles for suites? I stayed in a Gem suite last cruise but think I didn't have bubbles.
Rare BirdTravels Posted September 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2016 They provide bath salts for all suites.
gizfish Posted September 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2016 I can't imagine how a bath bomb would cause a problem with the water system. Aren't they basically made of the same stuff in bath salts. I know some have some floaty flower thingies, but even that should not cause a problem going down the drain just like it is not an issue at home. LadyShiva Posted September 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2016 Don't use the jacuzzi function with the bath bomb, and don't use bath bombs that leave a residue (Lush glitter bombs come to mind). Septic system on a boat is more finicky than a land-based system.
retired rascal Posted September 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2016 Owners Suite on Star...heading to Panama Canal...ecologically proper bath ball. Get in tub. Put on the jets. Suddenly bubbles waaay higher than top of tub. At that point the bubbles are stiff enough that the "wall" holds initially. I pull the plug to reduce the level. Husband takes picture. He grabs every towel in the Suite, laying them along tub edge. Jump into robe and we push enough bubbles out that we can deal with the rest. Took a long time. We were laughing our heads off. Called Butler who brought pile of new towels and steward cleaned it all up. Lesson learned!!!
abbyar Posted September 11, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted September 11, 2016 Eek! I'll remember no jets. I can't recall if there were or not on our Gem SC. Thanks!
weltek Posted September 12, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2016 As a LUSH bath bomb fan, I wouldn't do it. I hate cleaning up my own tub after some of those. I couldn't do that to a steward. :-)
Jenjer Posted September 12, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2016 I used one in our tub on Escape. But it wasn't a very colored or glitter one. I broke it in half and used it twice. But the 2 bed tubs don't have jets. I love baths but generally use bath salts to avoid bubbles. You leant that lesson very quickly jets and bubbles do not get along. Cruiser#5 Posted September 12, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 12, 2016 We were in the owners suite on the sun (hot tub on the balcony). We used a bath bombs from LUSH and found it was too much once the jets turned on. I recommend use only half. Enjoy! :)
