CruiserBruce Posted October 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) Top side! The issue would be sailing past the volcano, if lava is flowing. But I wouldn't book a cabin based on a short term issue like possibly seeing the lava, if it happens to be flowing, and if it happens to be visible. Otherwise there is no "best side". Land will be all around you while in port, and there is no way to predict which side of the ship will be to the dock. In Lahaina and Kona (if you are stopping there) you are tendering, and the ship will position itself to provide a protected side for the tendering. No way to predict what direction that might be. There are less than 5 special places in the entire world where the side of the ship matters. Venice, Italy is one, for example. GUT2407 Posted October 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2016 I agree with Bruce it seldom matters and in many ports you can't predict which side will be to the dock.
DRS/NC Posted October 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) Best side for sea days? There's water on ALL sides -- you're AT SEA! Yes, I took the Hawaii cruise RT, San Francisco -- 5 days out, 5 days back & water all around! Edited October 7, 2016 by DRS/NC
