intrepid_guy Posted November 4, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2005 I thought I would start a thread to find out who is currently working on each NCL/NCLA ship. Who are the CD's, Assistant CD's and Port and Cruise Consultant(s)? If you have recently been on one of the ships you will find this info on the front page of the Freestyle Daily on the first day of the cruise! Thanks in advance for participating. ~Intrepid

HB Posted November 4, 2005 #10 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Yes I heard while we were on the Jewel that Mike was going to the Star as CD. Where will Kieron be going? Hope on some of our future ships we have booked as he is good and would love to sail with him again.
Tomct Posted November 4, 2005 #11 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Well, I agree that things might have problems, but remember, it's not costing us anything to belong (and it could) -Monte I agree, and I have not come across, or even looked to hard for a better alternative. I thank the lucky stars every day for CruiseCritic.com, as it has provided me with endless hours of enjoyment, and allows us to fulfill our enjoyment goals on each cruise we take. As frustrating as some technical problems can be, I know they become aware of them, and do what they can to fix them. In the meantime, I congratulate them and thank them for this service. There's not much out there these days that is "free", and this gives us so much.
intrepid_guy Posted November 6, 2005 Author #12 Share Posted November 6, 2005 Have we got any more info about the rest of the ships? Who is back from a recent cruise?? Thanks again for your input. ~Intrepid
KeystoneCruiser Posted November 7, 2005 #13 Share Posted November 7, 2005 Most of the staff on Cruise ships work for either 4 or 6 months and then have a couple of months off. That is what happened with Kieron before. He returned to the Star after a couple of months off just in time for our cruise this past summer (late July). If he works 4 on and then gets some time off, his vacation should be coming up again soon. Kieron is the best cruise director I have experienced on NCL. What happened to Martin and his partner who were the Port and Cruise Consultants over the summer on the Star?? Are they also on break. They were very knowledgeable about the Alaskan ports. intrepid_guy Posted November 7, 2005 Author #14 Share Posted November 7, 2005 Ah, I remember Shaun and Martin from the Sky in 2003! They were great fun. We spent quite a bit of time with them on St Thomas and had dinner with them a number of times too. I hope all is well with them and to see them again soon... ~Intrepid
swkittrell Posted November 9, 2005 #15 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Kieron is the best cruise director we have ever had. He keeps you in stitches. I don't think he slept the whole cruise! Shaun always had the best information at port talk time. He was always up on everything.

Never see him mentioned anymore and wonder if he's still with NCL. A really good cruise director, not saccharine or cutesy at all, just fun. intrepid_guy Posted November 9, 2005 Author #18 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Droopy - Adrian was great! We had him on the Sky and at least once that I recall on the Norway! He was an all around good guy! I too wonder where he is. OK folks, we still need more names to complete the list!! ~intrepid

Tomct Posted November 9, 2005 #23 Share Posted November 9, 2005 intrepid_guy: I recall that Rich Cleeson (sp?) was the Cruise Director on the POA's inaugural cruise, and has been there quite recently. He's probably due for a vacation, soon, but I read that his assistant was "Shona". We had Rich on our first ever cruise, on the Star in 2002, and he was terrific. I met him on the beach one day in Kuai, and though he was very energetic, and always around, early am to late pm, I think it was him that said he did not drink coffee. [He later left NCL, but returned to the POA]
KeystoneCruiser Posted November 9, 2005 #24 Share Posted November 9, 2005 When we were on the POA in 2004, Patti Honecki was the cruise director. She also seemed like she never slept! The last I heard she was on the Majesty but was going on her vacation.
Diana68 Posted November 10, 2005 #25 Share Posted November 10, 2005 Patti Honecki was the cruise director on the Wind in August, and went on vacation when we got off. Would she be due to go again so soon?
