Who works on each ship?

Hi there,

Not a great time to be doing this as the ships are going through staff changes at the moment. To answer a few questions.

Adrian Lewis was the CD on the Sky. He and his future bride Holly have headed for land and are doing quite well in Manitoba Canada.

Candi Finkelstein is the ACD from South Africa. A delightful young lady who was recently made ACD and within a week had to be CD for a week. She has always been a Sports Afloat girl but when that department changed and she was no longer needed she had to learn the new position and any feeling you may have about "something missing" is probably due to her stress of trying so hard to make everyone happy while still trying to remember what she is susposed to do...

P&C guys Shaun and Martin are on vacation from the Star. They had been on for almost 10 months and deserve a break. Duncan Fouche from South Africa and his partner Melody Baxter moved from the Spirit to the Star to cover their vacation.

Kieron Buffery is on vacation from the Star and Mike Szwajkowski is the CD while Tommy Wolf moved into the ACD position and Darren,"reminded me of a game show host (lots of energy and smiles)" the former ACD is now the CD on the Wind. The current plan is for Kieron to return to the Star but this could change and he may be going to another vessel.

Karl Robideau from Canada is ACD on the Sun

Jolene Bonia from Newfoundland is the ACD on the Spirit

Looking forward to our cruise. Does anyone know who will be the CD? We had Ricky Matthews lon the Spirit last year and was disappointed. We loved Adrian Lewis from our Norway cruise. We are hoping for a more professional CD this time.

I took Patti Honacki off of the Dream since she cannot be on two ships at once, and I believe the Wind was the last one reported for her. Thanks again to everyone for helping out on this.

Now, does anyone know a way to put tabs in this list or some other way to make it look neater and easier to read??? These dashes are for the birds.

Some years back (2000 & 2001) we cruised on the Norway ("farewell cruise")and met one of the most spendid people we've met anywhere. He was Assistant Maitre D' in the main dining room. His name is Jean (John) Louis -- last name unknown. He is a tall, distinguished-looking black man from Haiti; always smiling and friendly, and is fluent in english and french. Maybe he retired when the Norway left the fleet, or is onboard another NCL ship. Anybody???

Regards, captgeo

CD on Majesty on November 11 cruise was Mike--don't remember last name. Candi was still ACD. P&C was Paul--don't remember last name, but he's from Scotland.

Paul was incredibly rude when DH and I booked another cruise while on board. We are great fans of Scotland, and he simply ignored any attempt to make nice about his homeland or do any of the other things one would think someone in that position would do.

We just got off the Majesty 12-10-05 cruise from Charleston to Western Caribbean. People are as follows:

Captain: Jan Ottesen (who said he spent many years on the SS Norway who also said the SS Norway is bye bye due to the boiler explosion.)

Staff Captain: Staffan Bengtsson

Hotel Director: Frank Hasenwinkel (he has powers to marry he is featured in the NCL brochures on that subject.)

Cruise Director: Soozy Atkins (redheaded from Canada. She was nice and enjoyable although you did not see nearly as much as her staff.)

Assistant: Candi Finkelstein - saw her much more than Soozy she ran the bingo among other things. She is from South Africa.

Front Office Manager: Han Sang-Yoon - one of two Koreans on board. Unless you use those services alot you don't see her alot though she was very visible at times like in Key West when passengers had to go through Customs, etc. Especially with the disabled passengers and foreigners who were segregated for such processes.

Casino Manager: Ian Monk - we didn't do the casino much so can't give specifics on how things went. But quick obervation is that there were very few asians working in the casino for whatever reason. Most casino crew were Americans or Europeans.

Executive Chef: Burke Barrington - from Jamaica though you wouldn't know it from the food.

P&C Consultant: John Dale - he is from Scotland, a previous poster might have mistaken him and called him by a different name. We attended one orientation on Cozumel that was it. Other than that we saw him around, on TV in the room, and in his office but no other real personal experience. The Cozumel shore briefing was nice but mostly geared towards power shoppers.

Restaurant Manager: Carlos Sousa hard to miss this guy he is 50s or early 60s with a bald head. Loiters around the Maitre`d station mostly.

Cruise Staff: Jhoey, Kristine, Byron, Maddy, Steven who are dedicated all are quite younger like 20-22 years old. They enjoy what they do and do it well although I think they would have liked to have done more but had to tone it down a bit for the leisurely crowd on this date. Holidays, summers, and spring break time usually attract a greater mix. Jhoey seemed to be in charge of organizing all of the pool deck level activities. Like the Sexy Legs contest, Miss Norwegian Majesty (both guy events) and the other things they did outside.

Concierge: Karin Goedecke - German lady in her 30s loves what she does. And we in the suites loved her twice weekly visits. Really puts a personal spin on things. Like Freestyle Cruising, its hard to imagine cruising without concierge.

Ship's Orchestra: Amar Orchestra from Poland. Generally good but we didn't see them play exclusively, they only backed up whatever activity was going on in the theatre at the time.

Second Band/Group: Grande Tourismo provided the music for most of the secondary shows/activities that weren't held in the main theatre. Like the 50's/60's sock hop, the Country & Western Line Dancing, there was a smaller theatre-like venue in the front of the ship where they were stationed. Generally good man and a lady he played guitar she keyboards with programmed background.

Pianist: Alan Jones didn't hear from him much he was the guy that played piano in the restaurants at dinner and in the lounges etc.

Pianist/Entertainer: Marcus Dagan - this may not be a completely valid statement but like they have Elvis impersonators this guy was a Neil Diamond impersonator. Did a Neil Diamond tribute one night. While that comment was not meant to be a negative comment, think of Neil Diamond and you will get the idea. Very good though. He is only on the ship a couple of weeks though.

Comedian: Rudi Macaggi well-known comic/performance artist check out his website. Alot of people haven't heard of him but he is really good and professional. He stuff is NOT played on the TV in the rooms like everything else so make sure you see him in person.

Second Comedian: Ray Mogenis not quite as good as Rudi Ray is very funny but his schtick is more PG-13 adult oriented. Its a more traditional standup routine.

Pool Band: Caribbean Wave decent pool band played well the usual popular toons. However since it has a Jamaican/beach type theme all of the songs seemed to have been keyed to the exact same beat.

Generally extremely pleased with the crew. The crew was the best part of the trip believe it or not.
