Tee & Chilli Posted November 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Thinking of booking Oasis for spring break. Does it ever feel crowded when sailing at full capacity?
Clarea Posted November 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2016 The ship sails at full capacity virtually all the time. I felt the most crowded at muster. That's when I felt like I was in the midst of 6000+ people. Windjammer for breakfast or lunch can be crowded. When a show gets out, it can feel crowded for a short time. Other than those times, I did not feel crowded.
KMagz Posted November 11, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) For us the Oasis class ships felt most crowded (as compared to our cruises on a few Voyager and Freedom class ships.) Pools, WindJammer, elevators and shows were trouble spots. Edited November 11, 2016 by KMagz
KPfromCT Posted November 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2016 We cruised on Oasis and June and the only time it EVER felt crowded was at the Windjammer. Other than that, we never would have guessed that there was 6000+ people on that ship. Great cruise!!!!:D:D Enjoy!
cb at sea Posted November 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Yes...sea days are crowded, especially if you're a "pool" person. Shows letting out are a mess...main meal times are crowded...try to go at an "off time", if possible. There are over 6000 people in a relatively small space....yep..it's gonna feel crowded sometimes...not ALL the time, but at certain times! Just like anywhere where there are bunches of humanity! cruisinwithmaandpa Posted November 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Unless you are traveling with children, I would not cruise during spring break. Many a horror story about teenagers that are not disciplined. Case in point, they will ride the elevators up and down, stand on the railing etc. and can be down right rude. united4life Posted November 11, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Is the Solarium for Adults Only? And on sea days do you find it hard to find chairs to relax in?
Clarea Posted November 11, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Is the Solarium for Adults Only? And on sea days do you find it hard to find chairs to relax in? The Solarium is for ages 16 and over.
kruzerci Posted November 11, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Only on embarkation day. A lot of times you will be wondering where everybody is. Only Park Cafe and the Windjammer seem to be the trouble spots for us.
dacsmom Posted November 11, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Is the Solarium for Adults Only? And on sea days do you find it hard to find chairs to relax in? I didn't have a problem, there were pool attendants who found chairs in the solarium for people. They were also removing items from chairs left for a long period of time. Fastback89 Posted November 11, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Stay away from Windjammer as much as possible, the rest of the ship is laid out well for 6000 guests. We booked Allure in July 17 as we love Oasis class ships the most..
kdawg954 Posted November 11, 2016 #13 Share Posted November 11, 2016 One thing I can say about my cruise on the Allure, it never felt crowded. Even in Windjammer, it was typical of any ship Lido Buffet as far as crowding goes. Seriously for a ship that holds the most passengers of any ship in the world, you certainly don't feel or see it. Was one of the most impressive things about the ship.

Rare JessyCruises Posted November 11, 2016 #15 Share Posted November 11, 2016 I have been on her 3 times and never felt like it was crowded, except windjammer on debarkation Sent from my iPad using Forums
kalliekae Posted November 11, 2016 #16 Share Posted November 11, 2016 We never felt crowded except when the shows let out and everyone tries to get into an elevator. It's best to use the stairs at that time or wait in the theater a few extra minutes so the crowds thin. We also avoid the WJ during peak times. There are plenty of other places to eat if you absolutely want to eat at a peak time. Since the ship is divided into neighborhoods, one can find a quiet place to read or watch the ocean. Rare mcatmcat Posted November 11, 2016 #17 Share Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) Yes but only at the windjammer. I had to wait in line to get in specially during breakfast. They had employees taking you directly to the tables. I've never experienced onboard other ships. I still like the Oasis class ship but are not my favorite. DCT61 Posted November 11, 2016 #18 Share Posted November 11, 2016 RARELY felt crowded. When we decided to eat at the "Foodjammer" we adjusted our timing and ate a little earlier/later and rarely faced crowds any worse than other ships we've cruised on. One of the many things we love about the OASIS class, is that there are plenty of secluded spots to escape.
swoopy2110 Posted November 11, 2016 #19 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Can't speak for Oasis, but was on Harmony recently and never felt crowded at all. Had two lunches where we had to walk around a bit to find a table in the Winjammer but other than that never felt like 6k+ people onboard
troykahack Posted November 11, 2016 #20 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Thinking of booking Oasis for spring break. Does it ever feel crowded when sailing at full capacity? For the Comedy Club and prime time in WJ, it felt a bit crowded to us. We never ate in the MDR as we had the 5 night Speciality Package.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums And breakfast was a problem in WJ. People were hoarding coffee cups as staff wasn't able to keep enough clean. If coffee cups were there, 50% of the time coffee was empty. Tables were not being cleaned quickly.

DireMongoose Posted November 11, 2016 #23 Share Posted November 11, 2016 We sailed on Oasis recently and in my opinion the design of Oasis doesn't do as good a job of feeling uncrowded as some of RC's slightly smaller ships. Probably 90% of the time it works great and doesn't feel especially crowded... but then you'll try to eat in the Windjammer, or attend a comedy show, or just happen to choose to do something at the time too many other people do and you'll really feel the weight of the numbers in the way you don't on other ships. land lover Posted November 11, 2016 #24 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Yes, at times and at other times, I would had never guessed their were 5700pax on our sailing. Pools and Windjammer were the worst, but only at busy times. BTW we only had 200 children on our Sept. cruise, but 2 weeks prior I heard from the zip line staff they had 2000:eek:. Jim40 Posted November 11, 2016 #25 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Didn't feel crowded in May 2015 , felt really crowded in July 2016 at over 6000 on board .
