gullcruiser Posted November 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2016 Hi, I am traveling in Vietnam for 10 days before I join my cruise. I've already applied for my VOA papers. My question is how much is the visa at the airport. I've read anywhere from $35 to $135USD. I have also read that this must be paid for in cash, what I don't know if it's Vietnamese money or USD. They claim if you don't have it in cash you don't get in since they don't take charge cards. Thank you in advance for any advice you can send my way! The reason for the variation in prices is that for about a 2 month period the Vietnamese government stopped any visa except a multi-entry 1 year for US citizens (which had a high stamping fee. Shorter visas and single entries have now been reinstated, as of the beginning of November. I would check on TripAdvisor's Vietnam forum to find out how much the current stamping fee is for the visa you desire. We are sending our info off to the Embassy for a loose - leaf visa today. Cost is $80 - all in (except mailing envelopes), but we'll have it in hand prior to entry. We arrive shortly after midnight after hours in the air, so I know I'll be in no mood to stand in line.
