Complimentary bottle of wine

A complimentary bottle of win was included with our booking. I called our TA to find out if we could choose red vs. white or even champagne. The representative I spoke with at Costco didn't know and advised me to ask when we arrive at the port. Hoping someone else on CC can share how it works. Is it a certificate that we redeem? I'm thinking it is likely whatever happens to be delivered.

Agreed - you need to keep on this with the travel agency who booked your cruise. It should say on your reservation; print this out and take it with you.

As mentioned, the pier check-in people will be absolutely no help to you regarding this. I'm sorry you were told this; it might have been said just to pacify you, but realistically, they won't/can't help you.

Little known fact. Royal will allow you to call your TA from the ship for free, so if it is not there when you get to your room, call them and tell them it is not there.

I had some OBC that never showed up and had to call mid cruise in order for it to be given to me.

Agree. We had to do the same thing concerning a missing OBC.

A friend on our last cruise used the same TA, they gave him a VERY nice bottle of red wine. It showed up a few days into the cruise. We used the same TA but booked a couple of months before them, we didn't get the wine, but a lot cheaper rate and more OBC.

Nice to hear that it was a VERY nice bottle. My expectations are low for this perk. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised!

Having purchased wine to be in the room, I do know that they will exchange it for another of the same price. I purchased a bunch of white and a couple of red but on the last night we had 2 red left no white and my companions preferred white. The waiter exchanged it for a white at dinner. It would have to be the same price or you pick up the difference I would guess.

We've booked Central Park balconies on Allure via RCL, and their promo in addition to lunch at Giovanni's is a bottle of red. Not much of a red drinker, but hoping I can exchange it for a white. Also, a D+ I get bottle of wine as gift and this past Easter got a white, which is my preference.

I'm guessing it's the Central Park balcony perk as mentioned (bottle of red and lunch at a Giovanni's) it's directly through Royal not the TA. I asked about it at the next cruise desk when we were booking as I can't have red wine, she told us it should be in our room when we arrive, but we could take it with us to Giovanni's and ask to change for a white (though would be limited in options) and they should do it without an issue. Not using this perk until March, so we shall see.....

Yes, it's the same promo. I will also try to exchange it, maybe in the MDR.

Our TA perk is a bottle of wine.

Before we sail when we pick up our packet from her we ask her to call and have it changed to the generic champagne..Made for RCI

Waiting for us in cabin in new Ice bag was the champagne.

After a couple drinks its not too bad.

Enjoy we did.

It is always great to know ahead of time when your TA has sent you a gift, so you can check when you get to your cabin. On our Halloween Oasis sailing, my TA messaged me to ask if I liked the gift she had sent. I sent her pictures of all the goodies that were laid out on our table (we were in a CL Suite) and she said no, she had sent something else. Said she would check with the ship, and the next day we received her gift, wine and chocolate-covered strawberries with a note from her. On our November Harmony sailing, there was a bottle of wine in our room, with no note. I asked the Cabin Steward and he said it was complimentary because it was the inaugural 3-day sailing from Ft. Lauderdale. Wrong! My TA messaged me later to tell me she had sent a bottle of wine to our room. Was just checking yesterday with my TA regarding our upcoming cruise and she asked if I liked the bottle of wine she had sent us for our Thanksgiving cruise on the Brilliance. I sent her a picture of the room we had been in, and there was no wine. She told me she always checks with her clients because there have been multiple times that the gifts she had sent clients have been charged to her account but were never received by her clients!

Just a heads up that the D+ Gift Preferences options in our My Cruises accounts have changed, for both of us anyway. The current offering is shown below and only offers one red and one white wine choice rather than the multiple choices for each that use to be offered. Because of this our previous choice has disappeared thus nothing was showing as selected by either of us.

A similar change happened to our Upgrade Preference but other reported in a Upgraded Cabin thread here on CC that I had posted this on, that their MY Cruises accounts were still showing the old more choice options.

I'm not a wine connoisseur, but what is the difference between the 2 KJ chardonnays. On my August 29th Anthem cruise we received a bottle of "Danzante Pino Grigio.

They are the same, except for delivery. SR - Stateroom delivery. DR - Dining Room delivery.

No changes at the 525 point level that I can see. Our wine choices are the same.

See, another Ask Bob

I had no clue what the SR or DR was.... the Casino Host sent a bottle twice on Kendall..... we are not big red wine drinkers so since we were with a group, we just took them to the table at dinner and they loved it... (I paid the corking fee)

We are disappointed that Royal only offers one Riesling aboard the ship, and it has a screw off top, not even a cork. We like a sweet Riesling but not Red wines as seems to be common.
