Coral Princess: Room Safes and La Patisserie Bar?

Two quick questions on the Coral Princess...

- Are the room safes card swipe or numerical keyboard?

- Does the La Patisserie Bar on deck 5 atrium have baked goodies available, as the name implies? If so, any reviews? (I know there's a small IC adjacent to the casino)

Thanks!

4 digit code is all you need.

The Coral has an International Cafe next to the casino.

La Patisserie does not have any food.

Thanks, yeah, I thought so. Princess had an older video that made it seem like this bar had some items (it showed a glass serving display w/goodies), but that video clip was probably pre-IC/casino refit.

Pre IC the La Patisserie had a tray or 2 of finger sandwich's/pastries with a plexiglass domed cover and that was it. Pretty pathetic.

Just like what Regal's Princess Live Bar has.

The difference is that the Regal has the International Cafe next to the main specialty coffee bar in the Piazza. The Live bar on the Promenade deck next to Princess Live is sort of like an annex of sorts for both of those places that are in the Piazza. We never tried the food, but, the coffee was pretty much the same fresh made and specialty coffee that was in the Piazza coffee bar. On the Regal, if you want the food, go down to the IC.

This is what the Coral Princess offered at La Patisserie back in 2012 before the International Cafe was added. As others have said, it was pretty pathetic. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even offer this anymore, since the IC would have much better food:

And here's a photo of the safe:

On our April/May Panama cruise on the Coral we didn't ever see any food at the Patisserie, only drinks. Safe looked exactly the same as the photo, just the same as all the safes we have seen on other Princess cruises in the last few years.

It sounds like your biggest concern is going to be not making the mistake of confusing the safe in your cabin with the bar and food options. For the record: the safe is very small. It required 4 digits to lock that you program in. You should not leave food or drink inside. I mean, I'm not saying I've never done it but man it makes a mess.

On that same note, please do not hand your diamonds and money to the guy making the coffee. It confuses him/her then they have to stop what they are doing, call over a supervisor and everyone has to wait.

Darn it, I forgot your question but I'm sure it was a good one.

When we were on the Coral last Christmas they had baked goods, deserts, and some sandwichs/salads. Not a big selection, but enough so you don't go hungary:D
