I have had a few instances onboard where it would have been useful (I needed to talk to someone but did not know their cabin number or last name). However, I don't carry my phone with me on the ship and usually only log on to the internet once or twice a day. I also know many people do not buy internet time at all. So, I think it is a great idea in theory but not sure how effective it would be in reality.

Panama canal ( second time first on Holland America)

You might be surprised at just what plans are currently available. We were holdouts for years & found out that after the purchase of a smart phone we actually would up paying less than before.
