I have a couple of the gift cards and am thinking about buying more at the 12% off price. Do they gift cards expire? I have yet to take my first Carnival cruise but am rebooked for 2022.

Thanks!

The Carnival gift cards do not have an expiration date.

If you cancel, any amounts paid by gift card will be refunded by a new gift card.

Can anyone explain how the Allstate RCL gift certificates work differently than the CCL gift cards.  It seems that I’ve read people stating that they are not as easy to use.  How so?

What has been said so far is true.

What I love about the Carnival cards is they cover EVERYTHING.  Deposit, fare, taxes, gratuities, on board spending, casino, etc.

+1   I particularly like that you can use them in the casino.  Its free money . . . which, of course, you will give back to Carnival after spending enough time in the Casino.  🙂

You best log in to Allstate rewards and read the terms and conditions for RC gift certificate(not a gift card). Line number 12 would concern me. "Certificate is nonrefundable and not replaceable whether lost, stolen or if booking is cancelled." So if you have to cancel your cruise you might just lose all that money you spent on certificate.

FYI, carnival gift cards are back in stock on Allstate rewards at 12% off in 100, 500, and 1000 denominations.

Thanks, but already mentioned in post 3666 on Friday afternoon.

It's my opinion that this valuable thread has been over 95% dedicated to Allstate as a source of Carnival gift cards.

Natural offshoots about other sources and about other cards offered by Allstate pop up from time to time.  I believe they do not detract in the slightest from the purpose of this thread.

Agreed, wholeheartedly.

I realize I'm a little late to this conversation, but wanted to plead my case. This is by far the largest active thread on the Carnival boards, and is only a couple weeks away from being 4 years old. That's pretty good, if you ask me. In addition, aside from maybe a few small hiccups here & there, this thread has remained civil all this time. That cannot be said of too many threads, let alone one this size. Shouldn't that count for something?

The conversation does stray now & again. I think that's just a natural part of any discussion, but it never strays too far and we always come back to the topic of Allstate cards. In some instances, the offshoot conversations are directly related to the gift cards, like my recent inquiry about Cruise Cash. We talk about the things we buy with these gift cards, the process of using them, the refund process, or whatever the case may be. The small discussion about the AARP cards are still gift card related. It's good info. for users who want to look into it. There's been several AARP threads, including the big one, but they all died off because of the changes made to their rewards program. There hasn't been enough people interested in them to keep that topic going, not to mention no need to post codes there anymore. So a little bit of that topic gets absorbed into this one on occasion.

For the most part, this thread has been followed by a relatively small group of forum users and I don't think we're a threat to the order of things at all. We're one of most civil and useful Carnival threads on here.

Try clearing the cookies for your mobile browser. The desktop site gets hung up sometimes and clearing the cookies usually works there, so maybe that'll help on your phone.

Using incognito will sometimes help too.

It sure will, as it essentially is a clean slate without all the accumulated cookies. This is the simplest workaround for the less tech savvy 😉 . The trouble usually arises when you log in and then log out but don't close your browser. If you try to re log in it will tell you that you already have an account and will try to locate by using your birth date which never works. This is where clearing cookies or using incognito mode helps you get back in. Just checked and it also worked by closing my browser and then reopening it.

Thanks M4Travels!

Often thought of relocating to San Miguel de Allende.   Hope life is good there!

We are into our 11th year here and loving it.  Thanks for the good thoughts!
