Allstate drive wise cards too!

So, as usual, Carnival isn't totally consistent with the treatment of these balances although it does seem that most people get another card.

Are you trying to say Carnival isn’t consistent with their own policies? Surely you jest! 😜

I'm always stressed about the ones that come USPS since my mail carrier has a bad habit of putting mail in the wrong boxes.

Same here. I live in a small rural town so we have a very small postal service and they can be pretty unreliable sometimes. I’ve had our mail carrier forget my package in her vehicle, so she said, but she entered it in their system as “Attempted delivery, no one home” to make herself look good. She’s delivered my package to the wrong address and had to go back to get it. We get our neighbor’s mail multiple times a year.

When they ship UPS, it’s so much nicer because of UPS MyChoice.

The $100 Carnival cards have returned to AARP Rewards, but it's not going well. They're still for AARP members only and they still only allow one per month (or up to three per month if they're sold by different retailers). They've now introduced another requirement. Payment has to be made through PayPal or Apple Wallet. But wait, there's more. Multiple people who bought one last night or this morning have reported that they're not getting the email containing the gift card. AARP is transferring some of them to Carnival, saying it's Carnival's fault. Carnival's telling them it's AARP's problem, and transferring them back. It's not Carnival's fault. They aren't being purchased directly through Carnival. It's AARP and HelloWorld's fault. My guess is it's primarily HelloWorld (which is the gift card fulfillment company). AARP seriously needs to rid themselves of that dumpster fire.

In light of this, I figured we might be getting more new users coming to this thread, so I wanted to re-post my walkthrough below explaining how non-Allstate customers can join Allstate Rewards.

It's a little more complicated for non-Allstate customers to sign up because you have to use the mobile app first.

For non-Allstate customers, you must create a new Allstate Rewards account through the Allstate Mobile app. Install the app and accept their terms of service. Then click on Create an Account under the orange Log In button. On the next screen, non-customers need to choose Drivewise Only (No Allstate policy). If asked, you have to turn on location tracking through your phone's GPS. I'll go into more detail about this later. You'll probably have to agree to another terms of service. Then fill out your information (name, address, etc.). From there, I can't remember where it takes you, but it should be self-explanatory from that point.

Drivewise is their safe-driving program. You can use the app and Drivewise to track you via GPS (this is why it wanted you to turn on location tracking during setup). You'll earn points by staying under a certain speed limit (I think it's 85 mph) and avoiding braking hard. After you travel so far and meet their requirements, you get points. I think it takes at least a couple days to earn points each time. With that said, I have never used the Drivewise tracking and never will.

Once you create your account with the app, you technically don't need the app anymore if you don't want it. I've deleted mine. If you want to use it, you can enter promo codes and buy the gift cards using the app, but you have to have location tracking turned on, even if you don't use Drivewise. Another reason why I don't use it.

You should get 5,000 points for signing up. If you choose to use the Drivewise feature of the app and let it track you, people also used to get 10,000 points after 2-3 days of initial use, but I'm not sure if that's still a thing. In addition, go back through this thread. It's a long, tedious process, but it's worth it if you want the points. There are dozens of codes shared in this thread that will literally get you tens of thousands of points. Some of them have expired, but many of them are still good.

If you don't want to use the Allstate app, you can login through their rewards website: https://myaccountrwd.allstate.com/anon/account/login?campaign=145. You can also go to https://www.allstaterewards.com, but that just redirects to the other URL. Enter promo codes at the top of the page. You purchase the gift cards by going to the Gift Cards tab, then the Travel category.

The ordering and shipping process for Allstate Rewards is identical to the old AARP Rewards for Good program, if you were a member of that. Allstate's Carnival cards are the physical cards that get shipped to you, so you'll have to pay shipping. They haven't had e-cards in a long time. If your order totals under $500, the cards will be shipped to you through USPS and you will not have to sign for them. If your order totals $500 or more, they'll be shipped via UPS and you will have to sign for them. For orders that are shipped UPS, I recommend creating a free UPS MyChoice account and installing the app. It'll let you track your gift card order from their site or your phone, and also provides some other services, both free and for a fee.

BLACKFRIYAY for 1000 points.

Hi, brand new to cruise critic, joined because of this forum. I found it searching for Carnival discounts to apply to an upcoming cruise. Thanks for all this info and codes. I just joined Alstate rewards yesterday and already have 26k points, rest of my cruise payments are going to be 10% off! And from what I can tell you can load this onto your S&S account and anything in that account can be gambled in the casino? Is this correct? Not bad if you get 10% freeplay

Also after seeing the last post I figured I'd try the holiday straight up:

BLACKFRIDAY            1000 points

I think that's right. I only play tables and don't take money off of my card for that because it's time consuming and they charge (3% I think) for that at table games. But slots I think you can download it right to the machine for no fee.

I'm planning on table here. Did not know about that fee, I saw on the website they charge 5.5% to get cash off your credit card but was hoping for no fee if it's already loaded to the S&S. I guess I could get the credit in the slot, cash out and use the voucher for table play? Guess if I'm up 10% on these gift cards then I'm still ahead with 3% off

Maybe it's different if a gift card is on your account. But I don't know if table games has a way of knowing how your account is funded or not. I don't remember how mine was funded the time I did it. I just thought that fee was if you charged it to your S&S account. It was about three years ago that I did it.

So far I have gone through about half the pages in this post entering all the codes I can find in to my account. I just got this email from AR with a code that I thought I had come across and put in but when I tried it I got the 1k points:

WELCOME2AR          1000

This is what I found on the website, it's talking about cash advances using a credit card at the casino, it sounds like directly from the card there and no mention of the S&S so this may be different. Can anyone else confirm what they charge in the casino for using credit from your S&S?

"Guests may use their credit card or debit card to acquire a cash advance at the Casino Cashier's Window. Global Cash Access (GCA) provides this service, provided that the guest has an available limit on their credit card or available monies in their checking account that the debit card is drawn on.

For this service, GCA charges 5.5% of the value of the cash advance requested or a flat fee of $5.50 if the amount requested is $100 or less."

I thought that was a typo, so I entered BLACKFRIDAY instead. Then I saw LRedDeablo say they entered BLACKFRIDAY instead of yours, so I went back and tried yours too. Nice!

So folks, be sure to use both BLACKFRIYAY, with a "Y," and BLACKFRIDAY.

Just an update on turn around time... ordered 4 - $500 cards yesterday. They shipped today and have a tracking number. Even with the holiday they are scheduled to arrive less than a week after they were ordered.

I don't know first hand, but I do seem to recall people on the forum talking about being charged a small fee for using their S&S at the table games.

Once thing I do know, if you insert your S&S card into a slot machine, you can transfer funds to your Player's Bank to play with, without a fee. But if you're going to do this, then cash out, be sure to spin the slot once or twice to look like you're playing. Otherwise they know people use 10% off gift cards, but use the slots to cash out the full amount.

I'm planning on playing... the tables, not the slots. Hopefully they won't mind if I cash out and go to the table. I guess if I do this once or twice and they look at me funny i can play a couple spins at the slots next time. I'm actually planning on playing and not just straight profiting from the cards, hopefully they won't care

Was just thinking about this, when you say transfer to the players bank that's just for the machine? Guess I'd have to still cash the voucher with the cashier before going to a table game so I actually would be just cashing out or is this somehow interlinked and transferable to the tables from the slots so there is no cashing out?

I don't play the slots myself, but have seen a lot of people on here talk about the process. The player's bank is only for the slots, as far as I know. You transfer whatever amount, then cash out when ready. I could be wrong, but I don't think the player's bank can be carried over to table games.

One of the big things people use the cash-out method for is to get refunded cash from their gift cards instead of having a remaining balance refunded on a new gift card.

Just placed my first gift card order for $700 worth a couple days ago. The status on the cards now says shipped but it lists the tracking method at miscellaneous with nothing under tracking. I read if its over $500 they do UPS (or was it fed ex) signature required. I wonder why they haven't listed any tracking info?

If you check via your phone it will show. If you also create a UPS MyChoice account you'll see it too.

I have done this a bazillion times on Carnival.

When you leave the slot machine, it does not give you a paper voucher.  It simply moves the (electronic) money that was on the slot machine back into your (electronic) player bank.  To actually get cold, hard cash in your hand, you then walk over to the cage and tell them you want to cash out of your "player bank" or "slot account."  (they will know what you mean).  They then give you the cash and you walk over to the table game you like and give the dealer the cash for the chips.   And as someone else said, there is absolutely no reason to have a gift card balance on your sail and sign account when you leave the ship!!   On the last evening just go to the casino, set up an account on your slot machine of choice, transfer in an amount from your sail and sign account equal to your outstanding gift card balance, spin the slot machine a couple of times at the lowest bet, and then go get your cash from the cashier's cage!!   You might even win something on your random spin, who knows.
