AARP Carnival Gift Cards

My gift cards arrived today.

One small problem and I might stray too far off topic.

I got some of the cards to go towards my parrents cruise which they booked separately. I just found out they booked thru expedia. The Carnival website wont let me pay for the booking on their site. I logged on to the expedia account to try to pay there. The only option given is to pay with a credit card.

Any suggestions ?

I don't know about Expedia, but when people book through a Travel Agent, they have to call their TA and give them the gift card numbers to use them. I think the only option you have left is to contact Expedia and see if they'll take the gift cards. Good luck.

I received mine from Monday today.  Middle name was null, which is I think why I didn't get notifications from UPS.

Be thankful they didn't have your last name listed as Andvoid..

You may never have received the cards.

Years ago I booked a cruise through travelocity. I called Carnival with a few questions end at the end of the call they allowed me to switch to them as the "agent" and get more obc for doing so. I dont know if the still allow that but if your parents are willing to switch to Carnival as direct agent that may solve your problem because once i did that i paid carnival direct. Again that was 17 yrs ago but worth a shot. Otherwise just use it as obc credit for u?

Good Luck & Take Care,

Lisa

I used gift cards to pay by calling expedia.  The representative then had to call the cruise line and relay the card information.

So I ordered one $500 card on 1/26 and it shows it shipped, but the shipper is misc.  When I click on the link it takes me to an empty page.  I then ordered another 4 $100 cards on 1/27 and it also shows shipped, but with USPS.  When I click on the link to track, the order cannot be found.  Is anyone else seeing these problems on their page?

The tracking link doesn't work.  Misc means shipped via UPS (which is for cards totaling $500 or more).  USPS shipments won't have tracking.

If I have a $500. Gift card and I want to put $100 on each of 3 cabins, wouldn’t they do that and just leave $200. On the card.  I ask cause I’m wondering why people buy the $100’s. Thank you.

Yes they will leave a balance on a card.

However there are various reasons for buying the $100 cards, such as budgeting to buy some monthly, buying as gifts, not wanting large sums left if you're not sure you're going to book Carnival again, and on and on.

Freaking FB group got them all.  I'm an Allstate customer  for both home and auto, want to save 200 on my first Princess cruise and now I need to play the wait game.

Doubly complicated because Cruisecritic no longer notifies me of any new posts on my followed threads, so I missed jbethel11's post.

You can set up notifications here. Works for me?

Yayyyy! I finally received my Carnival G.C. just now. It had my complete name on the mailing label. Now off to try to apply it to my balance. Never done that before, but I'll bet I can figure it out. If not, I'll just come back here, and ask. :classic_unsure:

Well.....that was an adventure, but I got it done. It turns out that if you book through a TA, the ONLY way to apply a G.C. is through that TA. You cannot do it through Carnival. I kinda thought that might be the case, but I tried anyway. I called the TA and gave here the G.C. info, and got it applied to my account(reduced the balance by 1/3). Then she quizzed me if this cruise was because of a special occasion. Well, yes it is....our anniversary and my birthday. She said 'great', there will be something special on both occasions on 2 different dates. Cool!

Below are a pic of our anniversary cake at dinner in the MDR, and the special surprise that awaited us when we got back to the cabin. I love cruising on Carnival!

Welcome to the Null club. So far it seems like all the Nulls came from orders made last Sunday & Monday. I'm curious to see if more recent orders end up like this or if they've fixed it.

I suppose this will have to do until I hit platinum 🤷🏻‍♀️
