New UPDATED Current list of Cruise Directors (CD)

Recommended Posts

Need an update for NV - tried to ask on a live thread and the poster was unhelpful, so can anyone else find out.

Also, does anyone have an update on MR. This may be harder to get as she is in Asia, but any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Joe, it's Drew Devine on Navigator, as of the March 26 sailing according to the live thread.

I would imagine Mercedes would take over either at the start of the TA or when FR arrives in Barcelona.

Michele is a guy from Naples, Italy. Promoted last year from being Activities Manager on Allure for a year and the take out AM of Harmony.

Feedback about Michele is better than Mercedes on the whole, but I have heard very little about Mercedes recently and she hasn't been on a ship since October, so unsure about her.

She has been CD for about 7 years though.

Yeah, Michele is a young guy, we've had him as both an AM and CD. He doesn't seem like a cruise director. more like just a really fun popular passenger. Wifey won't admit it but she has a little crush on him. :p

We enjoyed Michele last week on the Freedom. He was very friendly, funny, and had tons of energy.

I'm really hoping we have him on the TA on 4/23, on such a long trek I think it's going to be very important to have someone full of energy and get the people up and out of their cabins!

Navigator OTS - Drew Devine began March 26. (Is this for 4 months or is Cuddy returning in late May?) Clo O'Connor begins late September.

Since Cuddy is the regular CD of NV, Drew should be on for 2 months, followed by Cuddy for 4 months, then Clo for 2 months.

Then, Drew should be assigned to cover someplace else for June and July.

Unless something changes to break the pattern. lol

Mariner Of the Seas is Keith Williams till 9th July.

Thanks so much!!

I'll assume he began mid March as he was on LG until Jan 15, so he would have a sufficient break.

Glad Fang's on vacation - he's been doing some long contracts recently.

Marc Walker did his weekly live show today and told us his schedule.

Gets off on June 19th. Then two months off and they are trying to find him a slot for his next stint.

He then boards Vision on Nov 02 for a 4 day handover and takes over on Nov 6 to Mid March no exact finish at this time.

I actually watched it myself an hour ago!

Oasis, Anthem and Harmony all have open spots for a good CD like Marc in the July/Aug/Sept timeframe.

Thanks for checking in. Will update the list tomorrow!

I'm wanting to hear who you enjoy, why, and who you don't like.

Just off Anthem. It was my third time sailing with Dru Pavlov as CD. We really enjoy him! He is low-key with a good sense of humor. He gets very involved in trivia, and makes it entertaining! We thought he had excellent chemistry with Activities Manager Kevin (not such good chemistry with the previous AM Gio), and the sports trivia event they co-hosted was very entertaining. Dru's signature Seinfeld and Friends trivia contests are also lots of fun. He also arranged on our previous sailings for the headliners (Mo5aic) to do an extra, impromptu show in the music hall, and on this sailing, for the piano bar player (Sean - musical director of WWRY) to have the cast members join him for a singalong of songs from musical theater. Both of these were outstanding "extras"

My only observation on this last sailing is that the scheduling of events/activities was slightly odd. There would be times in the middle of the afternoon where there'd be nothing going on, and then other times when there was overlapping of the most popular events. This is not typical Dru, and I wonder if it's because this was only the 2nd cruise of his contract and he hadn't "fine tuned" the schedule yet.
